My thoughts and occurrences with bots

While playing last night I watched region chat. And people were voicing a lot of anger towards bots. I usually don't pay attention to those chats. It's usually just trolling and whining. This time I decided to watch. They seem to have a point, then I went into world pvp. And witnessed a completely bot side of pvp. That's when I said whoa we need to talk about this.

Now that they can't get dragon certs to use with zen beans, I don't encounter them in the Arena, which is the only place I had to interact with them.

So currently they have no effect on my gameplay.

All of the above stopped me playing the game, and until they do something about it i wont be returning, funny thing was , logged in last night because got email about an attempt to change my password

Secondary authentication FTW.... now why they dont have that in BDO no idea

This post is all my opinion, but I welcome debate on anything i have put, however, personal slander / name calling belongs in game where of course you're welcome to call me names im often found lounging about in EvE online.

    Short answer, No.

They don't bother me enough that I'd actually let bot users win and stop playing the game? That's silly. However i ran into a double awakening of their reality recently.

Falling behind everyone on my FM i wanted to catch up on the original game before cracking into the expansion.

Here i am heading for Jiangshi in the Orchard of Souls thinking i'll probably have to skip it due to lack of players, nope bots saved the day.

Now the other side of bots.

Entering the Orchard of Souls i took down Hulking Hungry Ghost with the assistance of a couple bots, dropped Abomination necklace on the market for 16 silver sold immediately. Wrapping up the Orchard of Souls on the way out i thought, what the heck, killed the Hulk dropped another Abomination necklace on the market for 16 again and headed out.

The next day I'm playing away, i get an email, and remember oh ya 16 silver here i come, forgot all about that sale. I get to a market open the email up and it's returned "No Sale" wtf? Check the market and they are now going for 12 copper, WTF?

Pro's and Cons to everything. I couldn't make some decent silver on that but new players get it on the cheap when they need it.

I think bots are driving people away from this game. You hardly see any news about this game and mostly everyone dismisses it because of the bot problem. NCSoft should really step up and deal with this before this game becomes a graveyard.

They are annoying, I just got to lvl 32 last night and have yet to have to actually deal with them other than scrambling to hit the block spammer button on chat.

I am a Bot hater though.  Since I was introduced to them in ironically enough, Lineage 2 Beta.  I saw them the whole time I played L2 (from Beta through F2P) and I saw NCSoft do very little not very often to get rid of them.

There is no good side to bots not at all.

They (bots) over farm items and sell them at ultra low prices as they drive the supply way over the demand, that is fine when you are new and looking to get your next great thing cheap but not so great when you are trying to make cash.  In a balanced economy things take time and the reward should be worth the effort.  So they kill the economy, and that will only get worse.

If you have a lot of bots, which B&S does, that means you have a healthy demand for what they are selling.  I guess you can buy gold from private sellers.  I have not looked into this at all, so please correct me if I am wrong.  But in L2 bots farmed Adena, and then sold it and that kept armor, weapons, anything you had to farm for months to get insanely expensive.  The bots controlled the market.  Not good for players.

As you pointed out you went to some area to kill a boss and got help from bots.  Not your clan or other players, but bots.  You see this as a good thing, I see it as a terrible thing.  I get that no one wants to sit around waiting for a group, but some times you have to.  I would rather wait than have a bot help me.

There are other reasons but I will stop here.  I have only been playing B&S for a couple weeks, so I have not seen the higher level area's but what I have seen thus far is NCSoft same old same old.  Nots problems and they won't do anything about them.

If you want a new idea, go read an old book.

In order to be insulted, I must first value your opinion.

Its funny how people complain non stop about bots and gold spammers in games, but when BDO finds a way to basically eliminate  it down to a few die hard gold seller sites  people complain too about how they did it.

I guess people just like to complain in general until things are PERFECT.  Let me know when the world reaches perfection I'll be waiting.
