Dark souls series are old school games, beating them is not guaranteed. Hell like most old games you would never see the ending, that's the whole mindset of these games.
Making an easy mode would completely defeat the point of the game.
It doesn't affect you personally to have a easy mode, so it shouldn't matter. If someone wants an easier run through the game, then play on harder difficulty a second time, that should be an option if they want it. Doesn't affect any other player that doesn't use this option. Just saying.

It does affect everyone because a big part of the game is summoning other players to help you. Adding easy mode reduces this aspect of the game. You could say that summoning someone to help you is your easy mode.

Dark Soul isn't a MMO, I wouldn't even consider it a multiplayer game. What % of players would actually do this? Did I fell asleep for 20 years and multiplayer is the norm for all games?

Dark Souls certainly isn't an MMO, but it is Multiplayer. Lots of people summon others, it's very common. And yes, multiplayer is quite the norm, where have you been for the last 20 years?

You are delusional if you think it's the norm. Not everyone wants to play with strangers, not everyone have friends they can play the same game with.

I'm not understanding how adding another player to help you defeat enemies isn't its own version of easy mode.
The game may have embedded the difficulty slider into the game through organic game systems (such as the summoning option), but it still lets you alleviate some of the difficulty if you choose. The OP is just suggesting make it a slider instead of an organic system, which is its own debate.

If you could dump difficulty there is no need to summon others which would hurt the co-op parts of the game. If no-one walks around in human form PvP would die as well. Let's not replace organic systems with sliders.
Iselin: And the next person who says "but it's a business, they need to make money" can just go fuck yourself.

I can agree that organic systems are much better in the Souls series. It just perplexed me that so many folks balked at the idea that the series should feature scaling difficulty when it has done so for some time now (albeit, not to the extent the latest entry features).
I really like the idea of developers embedding these types of systems within the game itself, and I'd like to see more movement away from a standard settings menu and more towards implementing systems that make sense within the game's lore and mechanics. I've always thought the idea was very cool and immersive.
This is stupid. Does your friend not know how to use the internet? If he has trouble he can always youtube Dark Souls III Walkthrough and be held by the hand. I did that for certain aspects of DS.
The reason I love (and for the most part I think most agree) the difficulty is what makes this game feel good to finally beat. It took me 215 hours to beat DS (that is because I was going for all achievements though). It takes time, and again I watched walkthroughs from EpicNameBro. The plus to his follow through was he goes in depth with lore.
For the hardcore this game has its difficulty ramped up. If you start making easy mode it loses its luster. Just use walkthroughs and you'll beat it. Eventually.
I think they should be applauded for not making the series easier over time. they have carved out a niche and kept to it. Not many have. They usually do what is needed to appeal to every type of person such as making the game easier or adding different modes.
Although, there sort of is an easy mode. Play offline.

Also,
May the fat roll live forever.
THE LOADING SCREEEEN after each death .....waiting for a loading screen is really annoying
if only there was a way to die and come back without the dreaded loading screens
