Nintendo must pay their employees VERY well that you cannot have a second job... that's insane. Also, reading about Alison Rapp i dont see the problem with her. She was harassed that badly just for being feminist? i haven't seen her being a jackass like Sarkeesian and the other purple haired indie dev.
As for the main OP post, i wonder how much of that investment was towards mobile and how much was actually towards the new NX. I cant wait for the NX announcement, depending on the features it has i will decide between getting that one or a WiiU.

the article is what I associate with Nintendo with now.
As for this lady I am sure her business opportunities elsewhere likely just jumped because of the actions of Nintendo.
Maybe Hollywood will make a movie about her story too
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.

Nintendo has a long storied history in gaming. One news story about a fired employee does nothing to alter my perception of the company. If questionable decisions from a company altered my perception, I would have very little left to buy anymore.
well to be fair its easier for me because I have never played an Ninteno game in my life anyway

If I was Nintendo, I would fire Rapp too. She had a position that made her the face of Nintendo. You don't want the person in that position to be about anything more than the game they are promoting. I don't think her pay is bad. Typically a person in her position gets paid a cut of game revenue.

Are you kidding? If it were up to me, they would be working Amazon hours and with their rules!! Just got a package delivered on a Sunday. That's the work ethic we need. 'Where there's a whip... There is a way'

Ya but your not one of the new generation of kids that gets completely polorized by reading one article. They live in their own snowflake bubble and when reading about how ONE other persons snowflake bubble was disrupted by a company causes them to fear for their own distorted reality. People have trouble accepting the fact that ultimately their lives are meaningless when its all over.
News flash what Nintendo has accomplished as a corporation dwarfs anyone persons fragile emotional needs.
Meh, I've read what most of the shit about that, and it came up many times that apparently she was doing webcam porn on the side, which, despite her being anonymous, I could definitely see going against Nintendo's family friendly whatever bullshit if anyone were to make the link, as was done. That paired with the write up she did about how child porn being available means less child rape overall that surfaced kinda put the final nail in the coffin, whether she's wrong or not.
Obviously if it wasn't for GG none of it would have taken place, and the harassment was uncalled for, but it is what it is. From everything I read, the harassment was terrible, GG sucks, but I really don't see Nintendo as some big bad company now due to the outcome.

Well if we are going to talk about big bad companies then Konami takes that award, definitely not Nintendo. But i think they took the easy way out by firing her in the situation everything happened. Regardless of her second job, an employee is being harassed and they washed their hands instead and looked elsewhere. Big companies love to ignore that they make money because their employees do the job their bosses dont do.
But hey, one job leads to another so its not like she (or anyone else in her position) is doomed.
EDIT: But they have every right to fire anyone they deem not following their family friendly tradition anymore.
Also, gotta love the people purposely misinterpreting the essay she wrote in college just to accuse her of being pro-pedo, just because she is a feminist (one that at least doesn't behave like sarkeesian and zoe quinn). Society is really rotten.

It's true, I wasn't too big a fan of the fact that they ignored it basically right up to the point of her removal, while she dealt with it solo. I also don't like that she was blamed for shit she would obviously have no control over like censorship. But it is what it is, and that secondary job came conveniently for Nintendo, and her reputation was pretty much ruined at this point, so I can see how they'd find issues with her representing them and would want to remove her.
In the end, I doubt if they had stepped in to help out beforehand that it would've made too big of a difference in the outcome.
And yeah, that essay was definitely misconstrued and blown out of proportion, but the vast majority of people who see this stuff aren't gonna see it objectively.

My money would be on AR as Nintendo is never one to chase trends, they make their own trends.
I self identify as a monkey.

PS: OK, back on topic now.
