I actually quit playing and went back to playing DAOC . The staff running this project seem to be on some serious ego/high horse issues when all they are really doing is stealing code to begin with. I miss playing warhammer but not to the point of watching geno and az make their daily dictator posts bashing the community who doesn't want to play like them.

You are not alone pal.
I also quit after some racist forum comments. Community is full of trolls some of them friends of the devs, so they can post all the garbage they want without any punishment. Guess players need to worship devs everytime even if they make some glamorous mistakes. You know ,no criticism allowed or do it at your own very risk (banhammer)

I have seen them call people dumb because they do not agree with them on the forum and in game. A few days ago a GM baited a player into getting banned.... Players in the zone were shocked at how unprofessional the actions of GM was.

the only one i actually find decent is magicthighz. Whenever the devs post something messed up and stupid with their dictatorial attitudes he/she will post a few minutes later trying to clear up the air with examples. I seriously cannot believe that moron az and geno posted that no one on their server likes pvp and are wusses so they changed up the rewards for captures in T4 because the zerges run around in circles avoiding one another and wont defend. That was the icing on the cake for me with their attitudes. They are not even real coders they are stealing code and copying it from some of their mythic friends from the past. After listening to their rants the last couple of weeks i actually hope Games Workshop or EA slaps a lawsuit on their asses just from the level of disrespect they show their community of people supporting them.
it was EA and not Mark Jacobs or the team. Warhammer was over budget and behind schedule
If you complain about unfinished stuff, there is only one responsible entity to be blamed - developers not meeting their deadlines.
How does one come to different conclusion is mind boggling.
without knowing if their were deadlines put on the dev staff that was realistic or if those deadlines were cut none of us will ever know. I just do not see warhammer online with the same hate as obvious you do because i also see what mark did with DAOC and its still a great damn game even to this day. EA is known for butchering their studios they buy up and rushing things out the door to make money why would mark jacobs and mythic be any different when they were trying to be the next wow killer in EA's mind?

Devs are the only ones who setup the deadlines, they are making the game, the make the development plan. No one else.

Fly safe.
the issue with that though is a less corporate environment than EA when things come up management will try to work with developers to actually release something of quality. Things happen deadlines might be extender or missed things break and new issues arise. EA is known for releasing buggy unfinished messes from maxis to bioware etc. Also all you have to go and look at what MJ was saying before warhammer released and what ended up releasing. Hell they even have dwarf and greenskin capital cities almost finished in their core files and empty elves. They released slayer and choppa classes a few patches after release that was supposed to be finished before release. I think its pretty safe to assume from anyone who followed this game and played it for awhile that Mythic was rushed and it won't take much but a google search to see its been said many times before the shutdown, even MJ here implying that it was rushed. I'm not going to make a ton of excuses for Mythic though but I'm also not naive to believe that EA did not play a huge roll also.

It is the other way round, you are naive to believe that EA did play a huge role.
There is no "missed deadlines happen". By missing deadlines you either have to pour in more money into a project to keep up with planned content for release or you cut out on content and get what you call "rushed release".
The only ones responsible for "rushed release" are devs. You cannot blame an investor for not throwing more and more money on unapt developers... There is no way around it.

Using your same logic devs also must be grateful to players that actually play the game.
Warhammer online is a game that NEED people in order to enjoy. Devs would be playing alone in rvr without any players, so its mutual benefit.
The fact that game is free doesn´t mean you can ´t evaluate or criticize it. They are not giving us manna you know?
I try not to let the ego's of people get to me, they are everywhere in life. That being said I'm really enjoying it at the moment bugs an all. I joined a dwarven RP guild called the Bitterstone Thunderers who do RPPVP events every week, it really made the game more fun for me and there are some really nice people in the guild.

There are a lot of free games out there...... And the staff is not making anything just stealing code.

Except they aren't just stealing code, they are modifying it to be more balanced and it seems like fixing a lot of bugs that are occurring. If the code itself isn't being used in a game anymore and they are just trying to bring said game to more people then why is it a problem that they are using the code from that game to bring it back?

Yeah, because if you don't "use" something, it is not a theft when I take it from you, right...?

They put a lot of work into rebuilding the game for free. I can understand if they get frustrated with a few dbs.
So, we should be grateful? We should kiss their feet and worship the ground they walk upon?
They did it because THEY WANTED TO DO IT. I was there when a lot of so called current mods weren't. And it was better off without them. Too much supervision just spoils things.
This type of tyrannical egomania should not be supported...
I've been playing for 4 months and never had to kiss ass and no problems. I know if I did my job for free I'd be telling people to F*ck *ff all the time.

It's not about being grateful, it's about realizing you're in a private community, those running it are in charge, just like any other private server in existence. Hence if you're not a part of that core group (or their friends), going to their forums with any idea of being a customer, is a fruitless effort.
You're nothing more than a guest, going there and behaving as you would toward a real dev studio; IE making demands, giving feedback on QC, quality of product/environment, skill, changes you don't like...etc... Isn't going to be met with the idea of customer service in mind. It's going to be met with defensive ridicule, or outright removal and banishment.
That's the reality of private servers. They have the power, they're not beholden to anyone, nor some corporate mentality of the customer comes first, they're creating their own desired experience/environment.
You either deal with that concept or not, hence it's just best to play the game and ignore the forum, as well as, realize it's not a professional environment for anyone involved.

see its kinda the opposite for me I do not mind the custom changes its their server and their rules but when the two lead devs constantly berate the same people they want playing "their" server it becomes a real problem to me. Calling your community wussies who do not want to pvp just afk leech or children or the myriad of other insults thrown at the same people they want to play there starts becoming very tiresome after awhile. I personally made this thread to help promote the server and get more players. Ive never been talked down to personally banned or even got into it with any GM or dev there . But its very hard for me to read what they write in their posts there and not take issue with it honestly.
