It also could be that with a failed Kickstarter the current staff would be working much harder
Ok then I will not support the KS so they will work the hardest.
That's kind like saying i'm not going to clean up my mess in the movie theater so the ushers will work harder for their money.
Sure you can do that but it's kind of jerk move to do something to someone merely because you want them to work harder than normal to get the same job done.
Help me Bioware, you're my only hope.
Is ToR going to be good? Dude it's Bioware making a freaking star wars game, all signs point to awesome. -G4tv MMo report.
"Finally, keep in mind that the Kickstarter's success determines
not only whether or not people will get an opportunity to play the
amazing game we're working on, but it also impacts the course of a dozen
peoples' careers and families. " This quote does NOT say that if Kickstarter fails people will lose their jobs. Misrepresenting a quote is spreading misinformation. He did not say people would lose their job, you misrepresented the quote to make it seem that way.
Correct, the quote does not say anything directly, everything is indirect and implied.
The quote implies that without a successful KS, people will not be able to play CoE:
"... keep in mind that the Kickstarter's success determines whether or not people will get an opportunity to play the game we're working on"
The only reason why people won't be able to play the game is that the game won't be made. What impact that would have on employees and their families is not directly stated, but fairly obvious.
The quote does not say that it will DELAY when people will get to play the game, it says they WON'T get to play the game.
Your reading comprehension needs its morning coffee, I think.

Well to you it's about going to the cinema and being a jerk...
To me it was about showing how absurd his post is.
most peoples who post here CARE about this game, the promise sound amazing, it got alot of potential
they care, they got others stuft to do that being ''troll'' they want these games and dev change a bit so they become sucess!!
since they dont tolaly agree with the dev and blindly give them money you call them troll and discart everything they say... in the end everyone hurt and the game fail !!!
these troll are the same one who have give warning before ARCHEAGE was release, they have told you, but but but trion would never do that you have claim !! how it have end ??
i know they are peoples who are troll for being troll and enjoy it, but not everyone and dont name everyone troll just because they dont follow blindly the dev.
in this game case , the enter for try the beta and tier are WAY TO HIGH, they have no one know there !! that their first game , 2-3 peoples me included asked what position were the peoples in his staft who worked on these big games, we still got no reply !!! you call him a troll now ?? but his point and mine still stand !!
yes let list shadow of mordor as staft experience, but what was the guys position ?? he was the cofee guys ?? or the graphical animation ???
they ask for realy high price, peoples are burned of kickstarter, it will fail. they got no one know and got almost no gameplay to show... some peoples me included think a kickstarter based on dream and promise at this point will fail HARD.
but let see !! im just sad this game looked good
if this game serious they would go stream greenlight !!
Reading comprehension isn't a strong suit of his. You're talking to a dude who thinks coming across a corpse and looting it is "Full Loot PvP"
Actually, (and I am assuming the corpse is a player) if you can fully loot the players corpse whether you killed the person or another player did would make the game "full loot pvp."

This is the thread that it looks like it's referencing. and it appears it is referring to an actual player: Thread
Personally for the thread itself, the tiers look fine to me, and I don't really think they themselves will cause a game to fail. It's mostly presentation and trust that will get peoples attention. That and word of mouth.

Looking at that thread then deffcon is right re full loot pvp. The simple fact is that if you are perma killed (which a player can cause if they kill you in your final "life/revival") then your corpse can be looted and that makes it full loot pvp.
Timberhick you really need to make sure your right before shooting your mouth off
The Internet is such a bizarre place, I swear. People running around talking more about the things they hate than the things they like. It's kind of mental behaviour when you sit back and think about it.
You mean as mental and bizarre as telling people NOT to discuss something on a public forum?
A public forum doesn't have to be a free-for-all. That's my point. If someone hates something that doesn't even exist yet and just wants to spew bile about it among a much larger group of people who are really looking forward to that same thing... what does that say about them? They're crazy? Bored? Looking to cause trouble? All of the above? If you answered All of the above, you'd be correct. Ridiculous behaviour. Cheers.
PS: If more of you, who don't even work in the industry, got off your PCs for a moment and stopped trying to tell people who do work in the industry why you know so much more than they do, and actually went outside and did something nice for someone else, the world would be a better place, too. What a wild and crazy thought that is, eh?

Great topic, but not this one Feel free to start your own psychoanalysis topic.
We will start to find out in around 60 hours if I know what I'm talking about when it comes to the Kickstarter. Maybe I'm wrong... exciting times!!!

Love how your trying to tell him he posted it in the place when he responds to crap that some of you (including yourself) are putting.
He is right and you know it that's why you not trying to defend yourself but instead attacking him by saying he posted it in the wrong place!

Ok lol so...
We have seen this often before. A dev with some great ideas pops up but his business plan is bound to be a failure. We don't have to work in the industry - we have seen this often enough.
Now you jump in tagging us with words such as "bile spewing" "crazy" "bored" "troublemakers" "ridiculous" and tell us not to use this mmo forum to discuss mmos but to stop posting and go outside instead.
Totally off topic for this forum. All of your tags are actually spot on.. when you apply them to yourself.

Oh so you know every intricate detail of his business plan?
You know what he has invested? You know if he has investors lined up? You know his income and outgoings? You know what his estimated costings for the game are? You know his assets?
The simple answer to all of the above is no!
What you do know is that someone leaked a pre-kickstarter proposition that Caspian had asked for community input for. A kickstarter plan that was and has changed.
So before you comment on a business plan that you all have no idea of why don't you find your facts and when you have them and you are a successful business man yourself, then you can make comments like you have been making.
Until then why don't you either a) make constructive comments on the game, rather than "lol this will fail" etc. b) leave the CoE forums to those of us actually want to discuss the game sensibly.

No that doesn't make it full loot pvp.
That makes it open looting or you can say a modified 'first come first served'
@drakeordanska You are in no position to tell me what I am allowed to discuss.
What the 'serious fans' have done is successfully steered the discussion away from the topic while also putting the people doing the actual discussing on the defensive.
They do this all the time when a niggling of doubt about their precious starts to creep in.
I have no doubt. Because I understand that not all features may make it into the game.
I will also be donating £200 on may 3rd and it doesn't matter how much you try to bash the kickstarter. I decided that long before I saw the "tiers" and my mind hasn't changed.

Is that because you have realised I am right and that you know nothing about their business strategy?
And it wasn't an instruction it was a suggestion hence the word "why"
Uhm no It's just that you are delusional and see me as the enemy because I made clear that I feel the promised features and the targetted ks goal are in no realistic relation to each other.
If you want to shut up people then I suggest to apply as mod on the COE forum. Then you are free to suffocate all opinions you don't want to hear.

I don't want to shut you up you to actually use facts to back up your arguments.
Also you didn't say the kickstarter didn't meet the proposed plan you said the business plan was a failure. I pointed out you didn't have a clue about the overall business plan and until you did you wasn't qualified to make that comment. That still stands, you don't know he overall business plan just like I don't and therefore you (and me) have no basis to say that this will or won't work.
I haven't said it will definately work all I've said is I'm willing to give it a try. You on the other hand are trying to include your non existent knowledge into an argument you know nothing about.
