I backed at $90, and I'm sick of Kickstarters. But I wanted to put my money where my mouth is.

Sounds like you should be giving your money to a more worthy cause from your own admission of sick of it so to speak.

Why not give the 90$ to someone that could actually use it for something needed? Like feed a starving kid in your own town a few meals? Just a thought based on your statement that I am pretty sure I am taking out of context. That said I was sick of kickstarts since the first time the work crouwd-funding was coined.

If companies want to sell stuff they should be footing the "R&D" themselves and then selling a product or service. I know it makes people feel good but it is actually causing more harm than good overall I feel. Others may feel different and the need to incinerate me on this website but I could not care less so get out your lighters and torch me bitches.

ps if the game is good and they deliver something I might buy something. No one gets something for nothing and all I see now are words and talk is cheap. Come at me semi interesting game.

Hope folks realize that any pledge under $120 means other players get a 3 month head start on the live server.  This is in a full loot PvP game with lands and crafting. 3 months are huge...

Ya I wasn't sure if I read that right lol... The double standard we have for indie games is so strange. Can you imagine the uproar if EA published an mmo which offered a three month head start for $120?

Imagine EA had a paid/sponsored article for their Kickstart/Pre orders with $120 giving a 3 month head start....

I backed this one as this is my dream MMO come true.

However I have serious doubts that all the things promised in KS video will actually make it into the game.

The project seems WAY over ambitious and 900k seems really low to fund it sufficiently.

At this point I just hope the game gets made even if most features get scaled back or cut I think it will be amazing.

I pray and hope - let this one carry through to completion.
It is a little low, but they did put 500k of there own money and 500k of an investor. so close to 2mil without any extra cash from ks

I was thinking the same thing. With each new feature them mentioned my incredulity grew.

However, I backed for 50 bucks. Because that's how much I would pay for a game off a shelf were it done.

Like I said they cant make this game as they described it for 100 million. But they will make more money, I suspect they just want to release something they can sell and make money on. Get the cash shop open and start putting the money they make into the game.

But its a balancing act, if they make too much they might lose focus if they dont make enough it 'fails' Or they could grind along and release something less than what the wanted and hope it catches on (like ARK did).

From the looks of what the have if its MMO ready they will definitely release something. Unless its all completely internal test 'stuff' that is.

Im sorry but the 3 month head start perk needs to be removed.. Those 3 months will end up killing the game due to players starting out and then never catching up or constantly being killed. Or like AA and not get any land at all ..etc.

    Dumb is Dumb.

I pledged 120 bucks. Really hope they can make my dream come true. Ok...my mmorpg dream come true. Ok, just make a great game.

Did you watch the video that talked about family perks and permanent character death?  The 3-month head start isn't as big of a deal if you understand how the proposed game is going to work.
Besides if new people can't join a game post the 3 month mark, there's no hope for it anyway.

Three months is actually a good time to join the game as most of the bugs should be worked out.

yeah when was the last game that actually gained people after the initial month of its release? That statement is as dated as most games people still play these days.

I wait that long for most games even single player titles.., so any game I play is typically gaining me past the first month marker. Besides do you really think any of these games would still be live if they weren't gaining new players after the first month? IF so LMAO..

The chances that this game will see the light of day are slim.  With all the complex rulesets, it is a programmer's nightmare and even worse for testers.   With their small staff what they are proposing is just really hard to believe they can pull it off.

Throwing money at this game is lighting it with a match.  You will probably not see anything from it.  You would have a better chance buying the Brooklyn bridge.

So this is yet another open world pvp game?  With permadeath, too? No thanks.  Pass.  Why does this seem to be the only type of game indie studies are capable of making?

Is a man not entitled to the herp of his derp?

Remember, I live in a world where juggalos and yugioh players are real things.

I suppose that's true, but remember that all those characters will be dead within 15 months after the game launches.
What your not saying is those dead characters will be "reborn" and be stronger not to mention they will be able to inherit their previous wealth.

For a game of this nature a 3 month head start is HUGE.

Don't worry, its a kickstarter, most of them seem to never get completed.

They may gain different players but overall every game will have FEWER players after a month

The only MMO kickstarter I have backed is Shards Online. Specifically for the reason, if you don't like something you take it out. The game is so open-ended you can make your own dream. Want permadeath? Put it in, Want PVE NO PK heaven, take it out. Don't like dropping all your gear on death? Take it out. This game (Chronicles of Elyria) sounds like just another MMO that the devs decide what you like, you play by their rules or none. Sorry, but thats my 2c

Actually in the case of CoE I'd say their coders and writers pulling a rabbit out of a hat to deliver whats promised is key.
