I imagine the sliders are not centered and tied properly to the adjustments. I've played games where I click a slider and it actually grows slightly when I've not even moved the slider.
If I'm correct, the character got smaller before the cursor moved the slider to the left.
I think it is the kickstarter video(?) in which you can can see a dev actually play with the character selection sliders for a brief moment. So some of the systems seem to be atleast somewhat functional. Some might not be. But i agree. If stuff, like for example the trade negotiations screenshot is not actually been taken from a live game session, it should be marked as "proposed", or "thats how we want it to look in the future."
I checked the Kickstarter video again and it doesn't seem to me like the sliders are correlated to the height of the character presented in the video.
The height of the character apparently changes before the slider is moved, and then the slider is slightly moved to the right, which should make the character higher, but instead it gets smaller:
(slider not moved yet)
(height slider pushed slightly to the right, character is smaller)
(slider pushed to the right, apparently similar height than image #1)
I'd have to look at the video (to be honest I wasn't looking that closely at it) however Image 1 shows the natural status, image 2 shows the character slightly towards the mother, which may have been shorter and this image could have been before the slider was let go (hence why it has that light color bar extended from the left towards the marker. As for image 3. maybe the father isn't that much taller so pushing far towards that way doesn't do hardly anything at all. Granted It seems like proportionally the middle should be between the two, but that simply could be a problem in the code they haven't quite worked out yet. (like a failure to update before the character model is adjusted?

Will have to download and play it slower. But again, you might have found a bug in the sliders if they're not centered / anchored correctly. I've had games where the scaling didn't go as it should have. I ended up having the marker off-center to the left by around a full cursor width and it was the same height (that I could tell) that the default spawn. But a few months later that didn't happen as I imagine they fixed that logic behind it.

It makes sense that if the father isn't really tall, pushing the slider all the way to the right wouldn't make the character appear a lot bigger than initially. I appreciate the explanation. I still wonder why I see the character getting smaller before that I notice the slider being pushed to the left.
edit 1: I wrote that before seeing your post Maygus, I'll take a look to those websites, thanks.
2: I've checked the video again at slower speed and I think that you guys were right concerning the bug, other than that the slider seems to work normally:
All these people being so picky about screen shots and there viability as actual in game footage of a game thats not even reached alpha stage yet.
Perhaps the developers should start asking for screen shots from people of there bank accounts so they can debate if everyone really has the funds to cover there pledges.

Prolly has more to do with the supposed release date and the quality of the product being shown currently.
All those questions will be answered during game testing I'm sure. It would be nice if they had a general date for Alpha testing. The Repopulation had it's problems but I give props to them for letting people try out the environment and even providing Fragmented for free while we wait on the new engine. Still not putting money into anything until I can get a hands on feel for how it actually works. Five mins. with a bad combat system (not saying this will be one) is enough for me not to play a game, so I'll just wait.

And more importantly, in my opinion, it has to do with the trust I have in a studio. If I find out that a company is giving inaccurate or conflicting information about the current state of the game, whether by editing screenshots or creating "mockup" scenes with non functional UI while suggesting that it's a real screenshot taken during a live in-game session, I may consider this behavior as misleading and not be willing to support only based on that, along with sharing my doubts and questionings with other people.
