Glad they went with instanced. Not a big fan of open world housing and the general bullshit that comes with it. Here's to hoping they add a few more houses though. I like having options like on Black Desert, where each city has a ton of instanced houses (and even the farms on the outskirts tend to have some).

My SWTOR referral link for those wanting to give the game a try. (Newbies get a welcome package while returning players get a few account upgrades to help with their preferred status.)

    Yep as expected.

Now will Housing come as part of a DLC with quest arcs that have to be completed before you can buy a house? I think this will be the case and why Housing is not releasing until next year.
I was under the impression it was coming with the Aug. DLC that really isn't much of a DLC with only adding a few Argonian dungeons and the barbershop? Or maybe they are just teasing housing while talking about the DLC.

Either way housing will be nice, but what would have been better is Guild Housing along with more guild features.
Argonian DLC will be out in August with a few new cosmetic systems, the dungeons, and bringing a few older trial/PvE arenas up to max level, along with the capturable towns in Cyrodiil. 4Q 2016 is brining One Tamriel level scaling, and 1Q 2017 is bringing Housing.

I think when we saw the size of the cities at launch it was apparent that housing would be instanced.  While I think they should go FFXIV style as having neighbors really adds something (rather than everyone owning exactly the same one or two instanced houses in every city) but I'm not going to get my hopes up.
