Just because klingons dont act like bitches doesnt mean they dont know anything about science. They have freakin spaceships.

It was... a bit odd. No jokes about the Collective, no sequel to the "I'm phasing!" punchline... your previous STO video was better   but yep, the game changed a lot since the previous video, so it's up for a second look. (changes, like the added trait trees. And sadly I agree with that part, it's fairly basic. Old traiting was much better...)
I noticed that back in the old video you knew about shooter mode, but this time no words about it during ground combat.

Don't really get the ! mark in the text description's "even breed (!) Tribbles". Tribble breeding is a serious business... Even if you're a klingon. Don't fall for the rumours about klingons' tribble hate, my klingon captain just loves his assimilated borg tribble

Also, a Klingon holodeck, without Orion slave girls? Seriously?

Klingons are mindless brutes.  It wasn't untill TNG that they became more civilized.

Agreed, and even then it took some time for the transition. And I do get why they dumbed down the skill trees from the original setup, as I think it confused some people and didn't make the progression as clear. I'm not a big fan of the new iteration, but it can be hard to strike a balance between clarity and complexity.

I don't know.  They seemed kind of suave ( err...not so mindless ) in TOS.

Yep, the Klingon Empire was already pretty cool in TOS as well, definitely not mindless brutes. War-obsessed, maybe. Power, chain-of-command addicts, absolutely. Maybe even brutes, when necessary (hostage killing, anyone? ). But not mindless.

I haven't watched my old STO video in... probably since I made it. So if there wasn't any throwback jokes, that's likely why. And the game didn't bring up shooter mode this time like it did in the past. So I assumed it was either taken out or something. Either way, if the game doesn't mention it, neither am I. And the video description is taken straight from MMORPG.com's site... so blame them.

Looks like an interesting game. I've always liked Star Trek - not as much as Star Wars, mind you - although the ground combat in the series has always been exceedingly dull (and this game appears to do nothing to reverse that trend). If there was a way to just play the space side of this (you know, be one of those 'hands off' captains who just dispatches an away team to do all the dirty muckity muck planetside), I'd be all-in.

I really enjoyed the space combat. Like- A LOT. But the ground combat was so clunky I couldn't stick with the game.

Didn't even mention the Romulans, they have a pretty good story line. Customization is so good I had a Klingon as a Federation Admiral before they even came out for the Federation. I also created Jem'Hadar Admiral.

The game also has difficulty levels you can pick which work out well and player created content. Also the quests system is well laid out once you get use to it. A problem is you can't go straight up or down in ships, you have to spiral, they said it's a limitation of the game engine they use. "Star date, ah, Tuesday..." :)

Guess they turned into mindless brutes for the movies.  But they were always portrayed as mindless brutes for at least 10 years.  Meanwhile the romulan's were always portrayed as dangerously smart.

Holy crap! I just realized that is "Baltar" from the original Battlestar Galactica series!

Hey, I'm not saying it wasn't funny (Captain's log, stardate... tuesday  ), just the bar was too high, the first one is a classic (borg jokes, Nimoy's intro, Kirk - ok, that one was a bit eerie :awesome: ).

No shooter mode? I admit I wasn't on ground since almost 2 years, except for the festivals, so that's new to me as well. I plan to roll a new captain for this TOS expansion, just not now, currently I'm hunting golems in TSW...

@Hive Basically Engineer is a tank, Science is a healer and Tactical is DPS.

End-game content is all about instanced dungeons and a bit less instanced maps where you grind "reputation" and dailies. Overall I enjoyed my time in STO even through I'm not that much into Star Trek (more into Babylon 5 and Battlestar Galactica).

There's a lot of grind and a really grindy end-game equipment progression where you need to do multiple kinds of grinds unless you want to spend lots of $$$ and even then you'll only bypass a part of the grind (equipment upgrading is a killer).

    Cheers.

@TheHiveLeader dude I so much enjoy your videos they have me laughing so hard. Concerning your video, I use to play STO and gave up on it after a while because I saw nothing from Crpytic that seemed if they were taking the game to the next level. I think this video of mine will show you what I mean (yes I did create this video back during the time I was playing). I very much enjoyed the crap out of the space combats and messed around with my flightstick plus voice commands. So yeah the game can be fun at high levels but you have to be creative along with it.

Good video. Star Trek Online (STO) is still one of the better free-to-play games released considering all the free & pay options & content. The end-game is currently level 60, the storylines are good to really good & some are even worthy of becoming television episodes, & there are just now (3) expansions released: Legacy of Romulus, Delta Rising, & just a couple of days ago was Agents of Yesterday. There is also a lot of voice acting from original Star Trek series' actors. The end-game does become really grinding with all the Reputations, Specializations, & etc. Nonetheless, if you don't have to be one of the best & enjoy a journey STO is still worth recommending!

Klingons actually changed over the years, because that is the way the story progressed. They moved away from things like science and art in favor of the more aggressive and militant warrior culture. I wouldn't say they became bitches, they just couldn't defeat the Federation so they declared a truce.
