AR MMORPG, would you play it?

I was thinking, after the sudden outrage for Pokemon Go, which i play and i admit, it's an horrible game, poorly designed and still, so fucking fun.

So, imagine an MMORPG with AR Bosses showing up in certain places, having to kill AR enemies to get loot, etc, to me it sounds really fun and may get me to play MMORPGs again.

So, do you think mobile AR may be a good platform for MMORPGS?

No i despise the very thought of a game that is nothing more than RANDOM code.
I want a game design to make sense not just a pile of code tossed together like a salad.

It is like this....If your friend asked you to go hunt DEER,would you be looking in your neighbors backyard?NO of course not,yet that is how Pokemon Go is designed, just a silly gimmick that thrives on the incredible addiction to people and their cell phones.

It is really sad to see such a terrible game like Pokemon Go making so much money, all these crappy cheapo designs are flooding the gaming market and it's getting worse.Too many ARPG's,Moba's,browser games, mobile games, the market is aiming at cheaper faster less effort designs, just aim for popular gimmicks like cell phones,Facebook or esports.

I'm unable to answer that question, because I can't conceptualize very well what an MMARRPG (it probably wouldn't be online, as it could just rely on socialization in real life) would be like; would you walk to the park and grind on orcs there? Be ambushed on the bus by a dragon?

Not yet at least. Now, if you could get good AR glasses and run them of a mobile device (like an IPAD) things would be different but just going around town killing goblins like you catch pokemons is not good enough to be a MMO, not even close.

With full AR glasses PvP in the park with other players could be interesting but you probably would need some kind of wristbands or gloves as well (and maybe legstraps) so the game know where you body is for hits.

Currently I heard you need 4 PCs and six cameras to run Microsofts AR glasses good (but a guy in my P&P group said it so he might be wrong. Even if he is you can't close to run in on something mobile yet).

5-10 years from now it is far from impossible. Now it wont happen, at least not good enough to interest me.

Sure; I considered playing Ingress back in the day, and if done properly I think an AR MMORPG could be very engrossing.

PM:G will run its course, and the lessons learned from it will help refine the next broadly appealing AR game. That, or it will be the WoW of AR.

I play ingress and pokemongo, I would love a real ARmmorpg, I normally don't like blizzard, but this time I can totally see blizzard making a smooth armmorpg that worked.

I would like an AR MMORPG, I just dont want a mobile AR MMORPG. Mobiles are terrible for input and dramatically reduce the quality of the gameplay, so I wouldn't play it on a mobile device.

But, once glasses / hololens come out, I'd be up for an AR MMORPG that works from home on my PC. That way we can keep everything current MMORPGs do and just augment it.

Instead I'd be interested in playing a local AR game in a building with an obstacle course in it (a Crazee Mazeez for teens and grown-ups type thing).  It would be an activity like paintball or lazer tag but preferably with non-gun weapons.
I want to help design and develop a PvE-focused, solo-friendly, sandpark MMO which combines crafting, monster hunting, and story.  So PM me if you are starting one.

AR MMO? likely not. Games like Ingress have been around for a while now and I played a bit. I think the idea is very awesome I just cant get into AR I want to be completely into another world/universe

Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.
