Hence the First Person view and no NPCs leaving their ships. They have made a game and brought it to market, and that is the first step in the learning process. I congratulate them on what they have accomplished. Well done, and good luck on their next attempt. May be they can use this to get jobs with a real development studio.

Personally I'm going to wait and watch some in-depth PC reviews before forming a proper opinion. It's not really grabbing me enough to lay down £40 at this point.
I think the major put off for most PC Gamers is the price for the type of game it is. Stay away from console+ games if you want to pay reasonable prices. You can't expect a publisher to run away from the easy and obvious price point for that market. Just wait until it's on sale.
I've paid attention to this game from the beginning and I never had the same expectations some of you have. At no f#%king point was I expecting anything more than flying around and checking out new worlds and naming stuff and the small bells and whistles which accompany that play style.
Then again some of you are the same nutters who will join an OWPVP game and try and will it into a PVE wonderland. As you were I suppose.

I wonder if there are plans for humanoids? Killing sentry bots is great and all but. Really it's all about what they plan on adding more than what is in at launch, unless they are going to release it and forget about it.

I am sorry, but that is extremely barebones gameplay. Over half your points can be consolidated.

Well space engine is not really a game now is it? Sure you can" explore" in that engine and sure it has some nice vistas but thats about it, planet surface, nice sunset, cool asteroids but nothing really to do in that engine so compare that to NMS is moot.
I think exploring a manually handcrafted world where the developers presumably lovingly manually placed in all sorts of easter eggs and beautiful sights, etc, is probably going to be more interesting (and feel more magical) than exploring a bunch of procedurally generated ones.

Well, for what its worth I have the game and I am really enjoying it. I am not concerned that I will not meet other players. In fact I prefer it that way. Its nice that while exploring I don't have to keep looking over my shoulder for players whose only purpose in life is to gank players.

Also I have encountered puzzles in the game.
How's the combat? I would consider playing it for some PvE type combat, both space and fps. Is there worthwhile loot?
Hopefully there will be some great mods put out. Mods can make some games so much better.

Having looked at a few review/gameplay videos that have been posted about the PS4 version .. from what i can tell about what I see .. It looks like a mix between Elite Dangerous and Myst. I loved Myst and played Elite Dangerous as well. Now I could be all wrong on this but those are my impressions .. and I like how the game does not hold your hand .. Too much of that in a lot of games out there right now.
