I'm having a great time with this game and am enjoying the world a lot.  Already looking forward to a replay.

Game can easily be played without the micro-transactions. Looks like they are testing the waters before making stuff like that necessary.

It is a good game, but definitely not a 9 in my book.  More like a 7, the microtransactions really downgrade it.

how much ubisoft pay you in ''microtransaction'' for write something like that ??

the game curently rated at 50%, everyone whine about the day one dlc ( you can use only once )
about the cash shop inside the games, you need pay real money upgrade your inventory... and peoples saying it realy hard manage it when you are close to the end games...

and various others fact, like the games take only 10 hour to finish ?? or that the story pretty mediocre...

you give it 9.2 !!??? realy ??? also the game got a mouse acceleration you are unable to remove, that realy bad and not fun . in my eye your review mean nothing now if you give this game 9.2... cant just take it seriously. if you give for exemple the new wow exp 9.8 i would not be suprised...

I've played the entire series and take my time finding a lot of hidden stuff on the first play through. After you learn where everything is hidden it makes the game a lot easier. If you run through you will miss a lot of stuff which will make it harder to play. I've played it since it came out and don't think I'm half way through even though it's about a 30 hour game, 20 hours if you just do the main quest.

Not sure where you are seeing that. If you are using Metacritic then it's higher than that from players and "professional" critics, for what that's worth.

Not entirely sure where you're getting your info from. I've maxed out my inventory space and haven't spent a dime in microtransactions. In fact the only thing you can buy are Praxus Kits and Credits. Neither of which are overly difficult to come by in game. You can also get some Praxus Kits from the Deus Ex Go phone app if you have it on XBOne or PC. Also inventory management has always been difficult near end game in every Deus Ex game I've played. Unless of course you're just running around with one weapon.

Ubisoft didn't make this game ;-)

Also, it's pretty clear you've only read critical feedback. Let me give you the other side to that.

    1) Metacritic has current metascore of 82 and a user score of 5.9. Many of the low scores relate to the DLC.

    2) Microtransactions are completely ignorable in the single-player game, which is what the bulk of this review focused on. I never spent a dime or felt the need to in the campaign. I mention in the review that you'll probably have to spend money to be competitive on the leaderboards in Breach mode. You *can* grind the in-game currency though. Since I do not consider leaderboards to be super competitive for most players, I don't consider these microtransactions particularly high pressure, even if I do agree that it would probably be best if they weren't there.

    3) The campaign is short, yes. If you mainline it, you will probably be done in less than 10 hours. You would also be ignoring all of the side content, new game plus, and flat out trying different tactics. That's like eating a donut in one bite and complaining that it didn't last long enough.

    4) I did not find the mouse uncomfortable to use. Some users might, but that wasn't my experience, so I didn't discuss it here.

Sorry that you disagree, but hopefully that gives you a little bit more perspective.

10 hours gameplay doesn't sound like much. I'm not a single player gamer so my expectations must be unrealistic for this genre.

Do the side quests, points of interest, and explore. You can easily make more than 20.

For some reason I couldn't get into this game. I found the controls clunky number one. Why does the Division feel better sneaking around, moving from cover to cover than this game does? The story bored me right off the bat, that could just be me which is fine, I found the main protagonist voice acting extremely monotone and boring. I don't know, I guess this game type just isn't for me, I prefer more fluid controls, plot twists right out the gate and enticing voice acting to keep me going.

Take your time and explore. There are hidden rooms and safes. Racing from dot to dot will cause you to miss out on a lot of exploration.

micro transactions do not effect the gameplay in any way, you can play the WHOLE GAME without touching them, downrating a game because you dont like a part of it on principal is exactly why most gamers would be terrible reviewers.... hence the ridiculous steam rating for an otherwise really good game.

Well one good thing about this review is that it got me to re-install DE:HR that I never got around to finishing, When I'm done with that, I'll get around to this one.

And @ianicus ... pet peeve time since I've seen it used incorrectly by several people repeatedly this week. What you're talking about is "principle" not "principal" unless you're talking about your high school principal for some reason.

stuttering is a big problem i do not like to deal with, and it seems they improved game play as well, but people are still complaining about fluidity of going into cover which also bothered me from their previous iteration.

out of synch audio as well...

these are main issues that really affect the game that should not be affecting the game considering that this is their secound one from their recent creation. which means they have a lot of art and story going on to build from making it an easier expansion.

apparently they used a game engine from hit man absolution whcih was a 2012 engine which kind of explains the problems they have. I think that engine also had audio sync problems as well.

I can understand this is an issue for an indy company, but im somewhat surprised its an issue for sqaure enix, or eidos.

It kind of makes me reconsider what my expectations should be for a polished game since I do respect these large companies as setting a good standard.

@Iselin stay on topic, this is a forum conversation about a particular video game. Condescending grammar corrections have no place here...

Can you post the system spec of the machine you used to play the game with? Also, was it on Win8 or Win10?

    i5-2500k @ 4GHz
    16GB DDR3 2400 RAM
    nVidia GTX 1060

Everything was maxed out except for MSAA and turned shadow softening and volumetric lighting down to on/high to save processor use (though it didn't make much difference, honestly). I stayed at 45-65 FPS. Could have turned some things down to hit 60, but it looked too pretty to turn down and even 45 was super playable in this game.

I wonder how long it will be before these games start charging you real money for your ammo.

Sorry for the cynicism but we gotta show where these guys stick they're monetization models or it will be coming to a game near you. ;)
