capcom tried to force a rootkit into user computers "to provide
security against game hacks without requiring being online" by way of a Street Fighter V (SFV) sept patch. [url=
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2016/09/23/capcom_street_fighter_v/]ref[/url]Their hidden rootkit that compromised PC security
via privilege escalations opened PCs up to attack. (This means any malicious software on the system can poke a dodgy driver installed by
SFV to completely take over the Windows machine by capcom's backdoor.)
capcom [url= they have rolled back the rootkit: "The rollback to the PC version of
SFV prior to the security measure update is now live. The new September content
is included."
Gamers realized something was a little off when the upgrade brought in a new driver
and demanded operating-system-grade access to the computer before SFV starts.
New cheats / hacks from capcom to follow!
