Pokemon Go News - Niantic is enjoying another record-breaking stat with today's information release that Pokemon Go raked in $600M+ in under a hundred days. The next closest game to match the revenue generation at that level is Candy Crush Saga that took twice as long followed by Puzzle & Dragon (400+ days) and Clash of Clans (500+ days).

And the pokemon tracker is still broken :| Absolutely mindboggling. A notch or concernedape would have this fixed solo within the span of a week if not faster.

This made more money than WoW ever did (in the same time frame) at its peak.

No wonder MMO companies are giving up MMOs (except indie companies) and going mobile lol

True, but when I started gaming everyone was an indie, so this is really then the way it should be.  Let corporations chase fads, let the indies create the games I want to play.

It got only success because of the pokemon franchise wich is 20years old. Every single pokemon game was very succesful. The next big thing could be google glasses with pokemon go.

It's a cool concept, sadly they never expanded it. Which is why I quit bothering, got bored quickly, with all that money that they made, you'd think they would release huge updates weekly. Yet there wasn't a single decent update since launch.

Also I've read they crossed 200mil in a month, so it doesn't seem like pokemon go is slowing down at all. Good for them, even though they really don't deserve it.

But Pokemon Go is a mmo.
Are you onto something or just on something?

45% time... Yeah, you HAVE TO keep it open as you walk, otherwise no alert for pokemons and no hatching...I'd see the numbers if that two option would work/alert while phone screen is locked.

I doubt they expected long term returns so even if it was a flash in the pan it was sufficient for their purposes. Clever marketing and hype and a willing populace made for mucho mullah.

Pokemon Go, unfortunately, is a hopelessly broken, poorly managed, barebones product. It was a fun novelty that had great potential, but it will ultimately be just a massive short term success.

I lost faith in humanity .....humans just love to consume shit seems soon the only option will be
    Consume Shit

I am just curious how much of that revenue didn't come from the US.   Would be interesting to see it by regions.

You're joking I hope.  Because a game or series of games make a lot of money, doesn't mean that the profit others are making (like WoW) is chump change.  Also, what is their sustained profit?

Furthermore, have you seen all of the MMOs being developed?  Quite a few if you look.

But.... people have been buying shit since ages.

I am 100% certain that in Rome some 2000 years ago there were fora where you could hear voices claiming "Those Games at the Colloseum are utter overprized shit that no respectable citizen should attend. No one needs them! Lets instead watch this new show from a small crew from Mediolanum!"

know why they still haven't fixed the tracker?
its because people are still spending money on the game. when they start losing money then you see the tracker and new features being added to the game.
