in terms of the ships that the f2p model will allow it is t1 cruisers, i think the retriever will also be in case. Not sure on the mining ships, interms of freighters, wont be much more than the t1 haulers, IE Badgers/Iteron etc.
But if your struggling by trying to get to grips, join the "haulers channel" (the official one) and ask for poxs62 and ill help you out in game with what i can, but also as a channel we are generally very helpful to both new and old pilots.
have to agree with Shodanas, SWTOR f2p is fine, especially since they streamlined the game so you can do just the main quests and advance. Eve and SWTOR are completely different games. One is a themepark with an excellent quest system, the other is a space sym with terrible quests but good PvP
For people who don't have a sub, the alpha clone thing coming in November is probably useful, but there are a lot of restrictions, you are limited in training, i think its capped at around 5 million, and there are a number of skills you are restricted to, also, you are limited to tech I frigates and tech I cruisers, and a limited selection of tech I modules. There is still a lot you can do in game, but imo, its really just an 'unlimited duration' free trial.
SWTOR's f2p model is anything but horrendous. It is fair. Freeloaders get way more content and features than they deserve.
riiiiight, good luck with that.
I got a lot of work to do to get the next ship, 100m for a 42 day training session
People that dont support games and cry about F2P restrictions make me laugh. I do hope you enjoy EVE. You will be paying through the nose to keep up there. 2-3 account + boosts you need to keep up. Seems most people drop between 40-80 bucks a month just to keep up with the Jones but we all have the right to pick where you spend your money and how much. I like the 15 bucks a month of SWToR. I get everything for that price. 500 cash shop coins a month on top of that. So the things I have wanted from there, I had no need to spend extra money and for 15 bucks a month, Im on par with anyone playing.

you can't advance past level 50 in swtor. How is that a good system ? How is limiting loot a good system. At least with EVE , when I pay for 1 singular month, I get to play, SWTOR doesn't even have single month plans. EA is garbage when it comes to f2p. The sooner they admit it the better they will advance.
Eve will be a unlimited trial, it is evident and they arent trying to mask that.
Thanks for the input, im getting my feet grounded, have my trasnport missions going now :awesome:
You can go month to month in SWToR, its how my wife and I play. Matter of fact, I resub every month as I cancel my sub right away but we dont play every week. So my sub will lapse for a week or two. When we sit down to play again, we resub and cancel again.

good to know. But I am playing eve, because swtor is a disgrace to f2p. So it is like a micro protest.
Awesome, I hope you enjoy it. Its a great game. Have you looked into what most people pay to play that game? What is required to just keep up with the Jones in EVE?

i have been playing at times with as many as 13 accounts (now just the 2 or 3 occasionally), and all that comes out of my bank is 1 payment for £9.99 per month (my main account has always been paid, but then any mmo i play i always have full sub regardless of cost as the playtime / cost per hour is nout) The rest are paid for by plex bought in game, anyone who has played eve for 3 months has the ability to play the game with 0 real life cost, and from that there is no cash shop that will help advance, and anything considered a help to advance characters can be bought with in game money from the market and not real life cash only.
But these type of comments about eve is actually quite common, in all my years of playing this game it still amazes me how much MIS-information goes around about eve. Yes it has problems, but its subscription model is one that many games could/ should learn from (heck it even took the behemoth that is WoW 10 years to finally click )

Some solid people on this forum have talked about running 2-3 accounts and buying boosts and spending 40-80 bucks a month. @Kyleran if I remember right drops 67 a month on the game.

YOU are getting to 50 for free.
Well, if you pay for only ONE month of sub EVER, you will be getting to level 50 for free too, 60 even. And so will everybody else. Because one month of sub will get you preferred status whichs lifts many of the restrictions. Actually, by buying an expansion or spending money in the SWTOR store ONCE you will get preferred status too. Hell, I might not like SWTOR that much but 15 bucks once is quite the steal.

YOU are getting to 50 for free.
I have max levels in all of the games I play, getting to max is not exactly ythe point, it is how I get to max. Tera I get all the content and I spend money on items in the item mall. DCUO has enough free content I usually pay a few bucks here ot there on content or bling. Age of conan allows f2p get to level 80 and also a buy to play module for godslapyer now. Lotro actually has a system that if people want, they can earn enough Tubine points to unlock content, this then makes it easier for player to actually by in store bling. Rift has one of the best systems in all of gaming , and I've bought items from them.
SWTOR gives you 1-50 and thens tells you fuck off or pay. There is no inbetween paying q5 dollars, or 20 dollars to continue your adventure, and that is just bullshit trash fucking money grubbing sacks of shit. One top of this, if I wanted to have artifact gear ona f2p account, it is 40 fucking dollars. Get the fuck out of here with that fucking shit ass fucking garbage. I get really fucking annoyed at really shot gaming publishers butching what is probably the most easist concept to understand.
if you have an item that s 1 dollar, you can get 0k people to buy over an item that os 40 dollars and only have 500 buy it. So fucking easy a cavemen can do it.
So YES. I took that 5 dollars, and shoved up EA's ass by playing eve.
So you spent time getting at least one char to 50. Enjoyed the game? Then when they asked you to show just some support, Dropping a few bucks in the cash shop or sub for one month. You said @#$% you and spent 15 bucks on another game? To each their own but your hatred to EA for asking for something, anything to keep playing, is unfounded.
