Well - what do you expect from an Asian game?

World of Warcraft is it's own thing and Asian games are about a different sensibility.

for some reason people think they are going after realism when this is the farthest from the truth. They have their own style of creating "heroes" and I've said before that in a way this is their way of creating super heroes of sort.

Pantheon doesn't fall into this category so there is no reason to "worry".

I don't think they ever took it into consideration.
I would not mind having Steampunk weapons, but the lore has to fit.
Pantheon lore is High Fantasy not Steampunk, so I don't think we will see any firearms.

I would not mind more traditional ballistic weapons with a Steampunk design such as this.

I could go for Steampunk weapons like Swords, Bows, etc, but no guns=)

Mortals can harness energy around them to coalesce pure fire and project it to a specific location... yet not fire pieces of metal with combustible material.

    Seems legit :D

Bingo... having a bow dressed in fancy colors with wings that can fire 4 energy charged arrows at long distances without arc is fair game, too...

In Jack L. Chalker's "Well of Souls" books (the orignal series) the "Well World" was a planet comprised of hexagonal nations, both on land and sea where each "nation" was populated by a specific race, had a specific biome, and a set technology level.

So, someone could be sailing the seas using a high powered electrical engine but if they crossed over into a low tech area the will be dead in the water if they don't have sails.

Dunno but this game doesn't look to be wanting steampunk in it.  It looks traditional high fantasy to me.  Just look at the races and none of them seem to fit in with a steampunk society so to speak.

Throneblade of Ykesha!?  Aesthetically my favorite weapon in any game...ever!  Wasn't unwieldy however.  I sort of agree on the guns.  I have the stance where if you like them then use them but please don't make them the main mechanic of a class.

I understand not wanting oversized weapons. But not guns. Understand I dont want some crazy space aliens shooter or highly advanced tech. But a simple gunner class (even if its more steampunk or magi-tech) should be fine.

I get mystical/magical from that more than any steampunk.  "Masters of the Arcane" doesn't yell steampunk to me.

I think not even 1% of people care whether or not there are guns in an mmo so if the devs have a cool class idea for guns they should do it.

I think it would be a great idea to have crystals with magic power used as the basis of projectile weapons. In the game's lore this could be naturally power-filled crystals or those imbued by magic users. This would also be a nice crafting opporotunity.

The less "cartoony" the better.  I favor the more traditional high fantasy take (bows/spells), but as long as it doesn't look like a 5th grader imagined it, I can tolerate firearms.

    @Aelious
Also, just because a society has the materials, it doesn't mean the science has been developed for guns (ancient Chinese are a good example of this). If you want to take a more realistic stance on high fantasy, it's totally plausible that the technological advancement took a different direction.

Either way, as long as it makes sense, I won't complain if they decided to use firearms.

Off topic, but Wolfslayer rifle is still the best looking gun in WoW imo.

I wish I have my hunter in the raid back then instead of warrior when that dropped.
