Totally love the survival aspect. He actually started losing health when he became hungry. Don't know what the rest of those icons mean, but it almost has a Don't Starve look to it. Very cool!
I felt like I was watching someone do chores lol. What is appealing about this game again?
Doing chores in a fantasy setting. I remember being a kid and falling for it over and over again. "Now son, you're a mighty wizard. You know what mighty wizards do? They clean the freaking house!"
Constantine, The Console Poster
"One of the most difficult tasks men can perform, however much others may despise it, is the invention of good games and it cannot be done by men out of touch with their instinctive selves." - Carl Jung
Shame it won't be an MMO. Seems kind of pointless to go through all that trouble just to play with and against a handful of players. Without a populated server, it will end up being short-lived and not worth a lot of time investment.
On one hand the game will be boring if there are no other players around i can interact with. On the other hand seeing hundreds of other players running on the hills and trying 'to survive' would break the illusion of dangerous world i have to survive in.
I haven't seen a game here yet, only a game engine you can begin to build in. Surviving in a barren world, alone, will grow old very fast if there's nothing more the game can offer.
I'm not sure what you guys expected. This title is legendary for overpromisng and underdelivering 10 years ago. Now it's being brought back.. by a company infamous for being a cash grab.
I laughed at the comments there: "Witcher wannabe"... Because the character has long white hair... Jesus fuck the mainstream gamers are cancer.
Maybe, but I have a small feeling thats what they were going for. In truth it's not just long white hair, it's styled in the excate same half ponytail look.
I know i'm speculating, but I think they wanted to create a similar image in hopes of people going "Oh wow, a witchier style MMO", because to to me it's weird to release a video like that in such a bad state on a big mainstream game site, on here it's okay, because we're use to seeing games in very rough stages, but like i said, i think the linked it on there in hopes of people making the connection, but instead of what I said above, they got responses like "Witcher rip off that looks worse than Witcher 1..."

Again all speculation, was just thought I had.
Well, when you have little knowledge of things often what you see is like the only things you know... because your scope is small and it reflects the way you perceive others.
It's easier (and lazy) to compare something to "something that is famous and is recent". Easier than actually know what you are talking about.
I agree, that's the point i'm trying to make, I was saying I think it's a weird move to show something like this on a mainstream gaming site, when most likely 80 - 90% of the people think about it as you described.
That's why I was speculating the idea that this was done purposefully, so people would try make that connection and think, "oh cool, a Witcher style mmo" .
Its definitely trying to make use of the EA service...Another survival game joins the ranks of never being released and since they are partnering with Ark, expect an expansion before it leaves EA as well.

It does remind me of Ark tho. :-|
Yeah holy graphical anomalies Batman! Those need to be ironed out of course but other than that I like the gameplay.
Another video (throwing the landscape ftw!):

Game looks nice. I agree with others that the animations looked wonky, and of course the lack of optimization. At least those items can be fixed.
It's going to be interesting to see how well this holds up.
Try to be excellent to everyone you meet. You never know what someone else has seen or endured.
