ok FLAME ON! ...why is it that Asian mmos can get pumped out in no time but we are continuously waiting 3-7yrs on 1 overly hyped game that has to get crowd funded and milked? mmorpgs are next to dead..things are bad when the only 1/2 decent game to play is either GW2 or ESO or even bleh..WoW..theres lil to no real open world pvp, craft, build type games that are even remotely good

i want my mmorpg genre back and waiting every 3-7yrs every year for new and great titles isnt gonna work..FLAME OFF!

Because Asians play MMORPGs more than we do, therefore there is more demand.

Korea is also a Silicon Valley for MMORPGs so it is more likely to produce more MMORPG pro-capita than any other country in the world.

What makes you think that quality Asian MMORPGs are pumped out in no time?  If you first hear of some AAA Korean MMORPG when it is already five years into development and starting beta testing in Korea, and first hear of some indie Western MMORPG when they put it on Kickstarter to try to get funding, there will be a much longer delay from when you first heard of it to the game launching even if they take exactly as long to develop.

Now, there are some cheap Chinese MMORPGs that do get made quickly by reusing or even outright pirating most of the game from other sources, but they're terrible quality games.  Americans or Europeans could crank out terrible games in a hurry, too, but I don't think that's what you want.

but the moneyz that these games are raising over here are 3x as much as what they are doing over there..and taking 10x longer..and falling flat on their face

i just dont seem to understand why "over here" / "over there" even matters..

its like if you were selling a product online like a marble..it shouldnt take 10x longer and cost 3x more to make here than over there..you still have the product to sell and people to sell it to

i see what your saying but the milking and waiting is the part i just dont get here in the states or anywhere else in the world

idunno i cant seem to explain it lol

A lot depends on what you're comparing.  Games like TERA, Blade and Soul, and Lineage Eternal are hardly made on a shoestring budget.  Most games that show up on Kickstarter are very much on a shoestring budget.

In Japan even old ladies read manga. They have different categories for these comics and people of all ages and slants read them. In Korea Manwha the korean version of a manga is widely read too. Games are not that badly stigmatized and social justice warriors don't come out of the woodwork to assault every perceived infraction of their senses. So gaming and games are given a wider and more tolerant place to grow and they create more games as a result that seems to also find a home in most of Asia.

I'm sure people will come and condemn the fair offered up by the East as not being good enough for the West though so there is that.

most of these games coming out now or within the next few months or year are crowd funded and have been for like 3-5yrs milking cash up to nearly 15mil even much higher

What I really want to know is why does it seem any game worth playing coming from Korea or China seems to hit the Russian market long before NA / EU get's it.

Also the process from the game being announced in RU to being Released seems to be a much quicker one than the same process occurring for NA / EU.

At least that is how it seems to me!!! :)

The same reason that the AAA companies in the US have largely pulled out of the MMORPG market; it's not really what the NA crowd is into these days.  While MMORPG's are still hugely popular in Russia and Asia, not so much anymore in the US.

Between shooters and MOBA's the US has sidelined MMORPG's in favor of games that can be spun up and spit out for 25% of the effort of a good MMORPG.

This isn't what you directly asked, but if your real concern is game mechanics and not which country's GDP gets credit for a game, you might implicitly be asking, "Why does it take longer to develop a game with mechanics that are fun than one that just uses whatever mechanics are easiest to implement?"

The problem is there are too many MMORPGs.  We need fewer right now not more.  Until we shut down old dead MMORPGs we will be stuck with Shitty MMORPGs.  Add to that Asians dont mind living in a little apartment, going to a coffee cafe just so they can drop 10K that month on P2W MMORPGs.  The longer sustainable model is really a new MMORPG coming out every 3 years and being a sub based game where 500K subs can keep that game running and consistent updates for years.  The Fast Food of MMORPGs of the last 8 to 10 years is what fucked the genera for a while.  Also look at business in general, the short term profits of min maxing of businesses from 2000 to today is why we have stagnate wages and people who keep not having jobs.  The old school days of looking to make long term profits worked 100 times better and didnt have today's massive problems.  Yea people did have to move as technology changed BUT it was not massive unemployment all the time.

Fast Food MMORPGs is what has to go by the way of the dinosaur

Uncharted Waters Online is a great game.  That's doesn't get you to MMOs plural, but Tree of Savior and Elsword are pretty fun, too.

Just because a lot of terrible games come from some part of the world doesn't mean that there aren't any good ones.

Jeez, haven't heard that term since my Mom died back in the early 80s.

Before judging her too harshly she grew up on WWII war propaganda as a girl and it really set her prejudices. Would never buy anything Japanese made if she could help it.

Wasn't too crazy about Germans either but since she married into a German American family she had to ease up on that one

If the problem is too many MMORPGs, then shutting down all the ones you like would be a good start, right?
