I wish every game success and this is no exception. There is surely a market for such a game IF they can deliver.
That said, I am 100% sure that most of the entertainment value of this product will not be delivered in the form of a game client but on these forums. I stocked up on popcorn.
Guy who made money on the MLM pyramid scheme wants to build an extremely ambitious mmorpg on crowdfunded money.......
If you don't know how MLM works, you earn money by getting others to pay for extremely overpriced products and you do it by making promises how they can also earn money through that system. The only people that would ever buy these products are people into MLM because the products are far more expensive than what you can buy at the normal store.
They get new people to signup through seminars on how they can earn money and the only people that get richer are people that recruited people early while the person on the bottom pay much more money for products in the promise that they can get rich if they just recruit more people. That's how pyramid schemes work.
The reason I know this quite well is because a person at the local bridge club got me to attend a marketing meeting literally yesterday. The way its setup with meetings and seminars is quite elaborate, all for the sake of keeping the pyramid scheme alive. Reading this thread just before going into that meeting was quite helpful to know how it all worked. It felt like I was attending a cult with prime motivation of suckering people out of their money.
If someone has associated themselves and managed to earn money through MLM know that its an elaborate pyramid scam. If you think that guy will successfully complete an extremely ambitious MMORPG you are mistaking yourself. The game will end up just like EQ Next, the difference is that instead of wasting Sony money it will waste mmorpg fan money while the guy at the top is making a lot of money.

Hey... in all honesty if they follow through and guarantee refunds in their Kickstarter I think that would be a great sign. And I give the guy credit for coming out of his forums to take the heat here.
