People have a right to their opinion. You have a right to not buy a game developed by a racist. This is your choice, I personally prefer not to support people like him.
What the fuck is 'intersectional diversity'? Does that mean converting an intersection into a roundabout is bigotry? Or is it a matter of trying to convert a roundabout into an intersection by concrete conversion therapy?

Use this forum to talk about MMORPGs. Please stay on the topic about MMORPGs and use the "off-topic" forum for unrelated posts.
By that definition we shouldn't be talking about Mass Effect in general, as it is not an mmo. Yet, this site covers news on survival games, shooters, rpg's, etc.. Until either the policy or definition is updated it is rendered invalid.
I've decided to hold off on buying ME now, thanks for the info.

The Pub subforum, where this thread was posted, is specifically for discussing MMORPG's. There's other sub-forums to discuss non MMO's like Mass Effect.
Nothing good can come from a thread like this. Politics ruins nearly everything it touches, including games that excessively political developers create and forums that have too many politically controversial threads.
Many forums, including this one, ban politically sensitive topics. There's a time and a place to discuss such things, but there's also a time and a place to discuss other things and not politics. One of the reasons is that if political topics are allowed to proliferate, a lot of people on at least one side of the political spectrum (and possibly both, if the political fights are somewhat evenly matched) get sick of being insulted and leave.
intersectionality is the scientirfict school of though that a person is never just one thing... man or woman for an example.. But factor such as rich/poor nationality and religion also plays in to explaining the situation of the person.
For an example while Michelle Obama and a woman with a child in a south African ghetto are both women and mothers... they are sepparated by a world of differences. Understanding how even minute differences (i used gigantic ones to make a point) can have a effect on how and why a society develops like it does has become very important in modern social science.
So in short. "intersectional diversity" would then be to have not only great diversity in one direction, but all. Like for an example while having a 50/50 split between men and women is good. making sure that these people come from different backgrounds and experiences is equally important.

So it means that the diversity we already have is important and good. That attempting to reduce that diversity, to homogenize society, is not good. That making everyone the same phyiscally, economically, socially, and intellectuallly equal is not good.

Pretty much.
For an example... Let us use the hot topic of male privilege. While you could simply just apply a broad shovel to anyone with a dick... We all know that access to said privilege vary greatly depending on who you are, where you grew up and what your faith is, not to mention how you look. Without intersectionality there is no way to properly explain (scientifically mind you) why not all men have the same access to the proposed "goodies"
Intersectionality is a way to look at society using "common sense" rather than relying on a strict category system (this is mostly how it was done before, you either belonged to A or B, then split in to C or D further diversified in to E and F when the truth might be that people had a bit of both C and D and E and F in their life.)
Topics on dislike or hate isn't something abnormal here, and just because it's on racial subject, it shouldn't be skirted around. As Xodic put it, this is a gaming board and the person in question is a developer of video games.
In truth, he should be out of a job. As a black man i'm not sure why it's alright for other ethnicity to slate on white people, but the other way around it's condemned. !00% could say if it was a white guy said shit like that, he would be booted to the curb 10 mins later.

I may be stepping on a landmine here, but can you explain how you see this as a political discussion?
-- Whammy - a 64x64 miniRPG - RPG Quiz - can you get all 25 right? - FPS Quiz - how well do you know your shooters?
Disgusting but thread doesn't belong here as nothing good can come of it..
Then you end up with a all fanboy heavily censored (open?) forum.
Not sure how you got that out of what I said. This is a hate topic, plain and simple. This isn't really the type of forum for such things.
This is a video game forum, he's a video game developer. It's crazy, but it fits. I know where you're going with it, but maybe people should know who's making their games. It may spawn some overboard responses, but that's why we have moderators. To moderate isn't to end the discussion before it begins, it's to moderate the discussion as it happens.
Running from sensitive topics is a ridiculous value to have.
How many devs are making this game? This is what i don't get about this type of thing, so there's an asshat on the team who says inflammatory things, why punish everyone for it? AT least he's honest about how he feels, and doesn't hide it behind other less revealing ways...

The problem that brings up is common sense isn't as common as it needs to be. But I guess that's intersectional diversity at work.

Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.
Racism towards white is usually a counter culture thing as we either beat up and/or colonized the people who do it...
It is also not institutionalized in the same way as we did.. at least not in the west (for obvious reasons)
Does it make it any better... Noope.. But it makes it a much less sore subject.
