I have a Idea!!!

PS: Tried looking for developer corner in new forum page, but didn't find it, is this a okay post here.

I am not a developer nor know how to develop a game. But I am a gamer that has tried multiple MMO and haven't found one that provided me with an sense of uniqueness and presence in the gaming world. So after going through different developer forums and reading other posts. This is what I came up with.

1) Weapon skill based level system : no levels, its all about using the weapon of your choice and level them up
2) each monster in the world has a set number of familiarity , number of times you use the weapon to kill that particular monster.
3) Every level of your weapons, you are provided with 2 set in stone selections and 3 you can reroll , and you only get to choose 2
4) the 5 variety can be in a range of , + damage, + range , + fire elemental damage ... etc, +AOE, +poison  and more
5) each quest you do in the world and complete gave you an personal upgrade choice , +health , +defense, +strength, +mana ...etc
6) each combination of the variety of upgrades for your weapon will have a hidden skill attached to it for people to combine and find , like if you combine AOE and fire Elemental damage 3 times each you get a special dragon fire breath skill that you can use each minute ...etc or a healing fog skill ...etc
7) familiarity of monsters prevents farming and pushes the players to move on
8) each quest also have a secondary for trades, like black smith , cooks...etc

So my idea allows each person to be different or exactly the same its really up to you but with the 3 random upgrades it should create some what a different build each time.
And you can become a +damage dealer but eventually you will be lacking in piercing so people with armor will stop you
and with a certain cap on +damage with a quest to unlock it also pushes people to explore.
But with familiarity cap on monsters, you will have to seek out monsters to build your skills, so adventuring is where its at

Developers can add monsters as the game progresses, and keep it as an secret so people have to encounter it themselves and then post online.
They can even have hibernation periods for monsters and have seasons to keep the game evolving.
You will end up with people that is a black smith that is super good at armor, another super good at weapons , someone focusing on enchantments instead of an person good at everything.

what do you all think??

when it comes to game ideas frankly anything description that starts with 'weapon' I consider to be still looking from inside the box

Sounds like interesting ideas.  Take some classes and get to work.

but you need tools to separate you from others, a single dagger user, a double dagger user, a great sword user, a gun user, a bow user, a hammer user, a staff user ...etc
What i was thinking is that by giving a skill augmented as you use it, allows variety and makes you more unique than others.
Because if I want to do AOE damage with my attacks, I augment it so it does AOE damage like in League of Legends and other MOBA games.

I think its Heroes of the Storm that I base my idea on, just multiplied it by a thousand
So eventually I could literally have raining meterors for one of my skills if I constantly augment it in Fire elements and Aoe range and add physical damages. Then one of my skills becomes summon meteor attack.
Don't know about programming but I think its possible to create endless possibilities of skills with my system.
You probably can even create a healer that heals by damaging enemies in a radius around him so he can be in the front lines with the tank dealing damage and heal his allies.

Each character is now truly unique and gets to make a name for himself /herself
being that healer that does damages or that ranger that does all dot damages but single target only. Or that ranger that does aoe damage but pierce damage...etc

PS: this is also an idea from Sword Art Online where he discovered dual wield, so I thought why not allow skills augment to allow combos that create new skills, it makes you even more unique.

a game that is focused on combat and has combat related information in the very first sentence is thinking from within the box.

I dont have a problem with combat but in gaming...we got that covered already. I look for ideas that are ready to move on to the next thing. sure we can modify combat here and there that is great but really I am ready to move on

I also thought of Raids as well, I was thinking that when you beat a raid boss as world first , the 20 people in that group gets an single extra augment for their skills. Or something like a glow that makes them harder to hit by a certain percentage that only procs when party together with a certain number of the member of the raid group. And have other bonuses through world firsts achievement. For example world first pugs to beat the raid, beating the raid in under 5 minutes...etc
And also have the Raid bosses to augment to the Raids that has beaten them before, just like the player, they have a random upgrade to one of their attacks, what once was a single target is now an AOE, or what once was an AOE is now a cone with higher damage...etc
I think this will make people want to beat those raids multiple times and experiment.

I heard George Foreman on the radio the other day. He was representing a company that would pitch your idea to developers.

He wanted to make sure everyone got their shot in the ring. You just pay him $99 and they go out and pitch your idea to a lot of people who just love to fund these things.

I think that may be your best option here.
