Two good gaming monitors.

Hey.. I figured while I ordered a new PC I should look into replacing my monitors. Or at least one.

I have an old school walmart acer monitor thats still some how kickin. Its probably around 7 years old now.

Im also using a benq monitor i ordered probably ablut 2 years ago when I was a CoD nerd. Its fine still so ill probably still keep it. Both monitors are 1080p..

Anyways. G sync vs freesync... and if you have any suggestions let me know. Preferably 4k im leaning towards at this point..

    Well IMO don't buy anything with a TN Panel poor color quality I bought Two Asus Panels they were TN colors were always off and returned them to the store went back to my old ones...

    But I did order this one, if I don't forget I will let you know how it does it does its a IPS monitor with 165 hz refresh rate for gaming so based off what the internet says should get good color matching, and refresh rate for gaming.

    This one sets you back at least $700 though so if your not really gaming in FPS games I don't think it would matter going with something even 60 hz.

    Just buy an curved ultra-wide monitor instead of two monitors. All the cool kids are doing it. 21:9 Aspect Ratio. Its like having two and you can set a laptop next to you to handle anything else.

    Just got my 34 inch ultra wide today, I haven't been cool in years but i do seem to have more money these days. $ > cool

    Im using the benq XL2420T monitor. Didnt realize that was all the way back in 2013.. wow time flies.

    Gonna check out that monitor now.. sorry to hear about your last ones. Thank god for returns lol

    You can do the exact same thing with an ultra wide lol. You can even spin some of them vertically if that's your thing. The only difference is it's one monitor so you can't split up what your are viewing on opposite sides of a desk.

    I have three of these and I'm surprised they still work as good as they do.  Had them for many years and still happy with them.  So I recommend Asus monitors.

    I usually run out of vertical space on a monitor before horizontal space, or at least I did before my current setup of three monitors with a combined resolution of 4320x2560.  Adding extra horizontal space but not extra vertical space always struck me as entirely the wrong way to go.  I vigorously protested the move from 5:4 and 4:3 to 16:9 and never bought a 1920x1080 monitor because it wasn't much bigger than 1280x1024 in the direction that mattered.

    Granted, 1440 pixels of height is more than 1080.  But still, the 21:9 proportions are all wrong for most games.  The extra pixels lower the refresh rate, too, though 100 Hz isn't bad.  And a price tag over $1000 doesn't exactly scream "buy me".  If you want to go with multiple monitors, then for the price of one of those, you could get two of these:

    Two monitors at 2560 pixels each is a lot more pixels than one at 3440.  144 Hz is higher than 100 Hz, too, though as I said above, 100 Hz isn't bad.  It's not like it's 60 Hz, or worse, 30 Hz, like some 4K monitors are.

    I agree about the verticle space.  Plus with two or more monitors you get those spaces from the bezels.  I find multiple monitors work best for running multiple programs you need running at the same time and a large flat screen TV works great for gaming, as long as it's specifically built as a gaming TV monitor so you get good refresh rates.

    If you're trying to split out multiple programs on the same monitor, then you can't maximize the game on your monitor.  If you try to use 2560x1440 for a game and put other stuff on the side, then that doesn't give you much real estate for the side "monitor".
