Ok, that’s probably not our best title, but we’re running with it. H1Z1: Just Survive is now titled just Just Survive, as it’s breaking free from King of the Kill, and running off into its own zombie filled world with its own lore and own mechanics. The Daybreak Games team has been hard at work since October of 2016 overhauling most everything. The result is a game that is recognizable to its original release, but far more polished and playable today.

This portion of the H1Z1 game wasn't fun. It shows with the total amount of users playing it. The DayZ mod was better in almost every aspect in my opinion. I think I clocked a total of 10 hours on this game, and didn't enjoy much of it at all.

I'm glad they are breaking away from the H1Z1 name for Just Survive, so that maybe they can get on the right track and not have it ruin the counterparts. King of the Kill was very fun, although now that portion of the game is basically moot as PUBG took over the entire battleground genre, but it's still fun to pop in now and then.

Daybreak need to get another game under their belt, because as it stands, DCUO is not doing amazingly, EQ1 and 2 are performing okay but they just keep rolling progression servers over and over now. Planetside 2 is doing pretty poorly from what I can tell, the servers have maybe 1 or 2 battles going on at a time, not really sure how they are making up the development costs on it, based on how little amount of players actually play it. And that's it. They have no other games running for them. So their cash cow KOTK is the only game really pulling in money.

Does it matter if it launches or stays in alpha?

No Man's Sky launched not in early alpha, and a bunch of people complained it should have been early alpha.

Then people who don't like early alpha would then complain No Man's Sky was...well you get people like you who would and I quote "when can we expect to see full launch? (If ever?)...if No Man's Sky launched in early alpha instead

Then you get the trolls who complain about DLC for Ark. But if the game wasn't in early alpha, you'd get trolls complaining it should be in early alpha.

Or you get the people who complain the game released in a broken state because of all the anti-early access trolls, who then complain the game is broken.

Its a whole bunch of nothingburger if the game is in early alpha or release.

How many times/ways are they going to rehash the exact same game and file it under new names for the purpose of creating new revenue from the same game?

This has been one super lazy lame business since taking over, first rehashing new servers for EQ and then H1Z1 separated into different games but NONE of the versions ever saw much effort ever.

They claimed the original game was early access, well FINISH the dam game, but nope they dissected it to try and rip off the consumer.

DB has shown me no ability or effort to be a game designer,i have no idea to the real truth ,why they took over this business is a real mystery.

By staying in early alpha forever they dont have to justify anything, just take your money

This is, what, the 2nd rebranding of this title?

That's it, folks: with publishers, we got sequel after uninspired sequel after reboot.  With crowdfunding, the developers skip the  whole new game portion completely; they just keep renaming the same game.

What is sad is I believe there are more PUBG players than in H1Z1, now I like H1Z1, but what I didn't like is how this company did not show where you were on the map at all, and completely needs many re-works to the whole game, including but not limited to character models possibly housing / building house etc.

My view at the time was that it was that they purchased a number of revenue streams - the launched games - and took a limited gamble on EQN. (Setting an upper budget / time limit).

EQN as we know closed. The existing games will be more or less ring fenced with their own profit targets. Fail the targets lose staff; badly fail close; make more and they can - maybe - spend it on some limited development. I would assume they are operating with minimum risk so basically no new development unless fully funded by profit generated over and above the targets.

Or.... we could stop releasing survival games in such piss poor states that they would be confused with early alpha products.

Just throwing around crazy ideas here.

good to see there doing something with this part of the game, needed some love. I for one got it long time ago before it split into 2 games, so i may check it our in a patch or 2.

I was starting to think DB had rolled over and died. I think the cash grab of Making this into 2 games just alienated to many fans. Let's see if DB can turn this ship around.

this new map is super small and empty of anything interesting, it also has more bugs then the entirety of their old map. . .

I also hate the stronghold system, really impacts solo players negatively

No new bag.. not at all. Same game, same ideas just something that should have been finished. This should have been an update to a finished product. While they are at it how about fix the eq2 launcher, you could re release it as a special feature!
