Crowfall News - The Fae are the subject of the newest Crowfall developer blog. This enigmatic bunch is the smallest of the game's races and is the first to sport wings. As with all the other races, Fae will have a Runestone that in their case provides a bonus to Dexterity and Intellect attributes as well as the "Bloodline" (free) passive that increases movement speed while in stealth, allows double-jumping and the ability to glide.

They make some dumb looking races. In my opinion.

I wish they could make their characters look better. I think BDO set the standard.

Meh...it's all taste. I like the stylized look much much better than overly "realistic" ones.

I agree. Realistic artstyles don't age well. Stylized artstyles are timeless.

In my opinion, the best artstyle is either painterly (Okami or Breath of the Wild) or something more elegantly stylized (like Fire Emblem).

Since i always give an honest opinion,i will say the characters are pretty good looking,it is the rest of the game...design or lack of design...monetization that i don't care for.I am quite ok with their classes and the looks of them.
There is a term used in that paragraph "stealth" i don't want that in any type of pvp,it is a huge turnoff for me.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Cartoons are cartoons no matter how long it lasts. With great graphics cards out these days I'd rather get the performance I payed for. When mmo's look like as well as rpg's be money well spent. BDO looks great but still has performance issues. Best so far though.

I dont have a problem with the style they are going with. Feel it may help a bit less beefy pcs run the game, thus allowing a larger amount of consumers play the game. In todays ago, most Pvp oriented games need to be able to gather as large as player base as possible to stay healthy. This is just one more step in the direction allowing more potential customers, smoothly play the game.

Stylized all the way. The game needs to run well, play well, and have a system that allows for the massive battles that Crowfall is aiming for. No game ever did well just because it had nice graphics.

For a title being developed as a kickstarter, I have no problem giving their stylized world a chance.

Something I keep getting hung up on with Crowfall is whether the races functionally have any significance to the setting. Given that the player is just inhabiting people like a demonic possession, I'm guessing their cultures and values and histories are irrelevant.

They plan to generate a history for each world that will influence the types of ruins that will be found in the world. This is something that may not be ready for launch, but they can add to it over time with different architectures.

I don't know what that does to help, but it's a cool feature of course.

I'm just talking about how these bodies are basically vehicles to the PC, a block of stats. You don't play a minotaur or an elf, you just... have the option to possess them. To me that makes describing them as a race rather empty; It has nothing to do with you.

Good way to accommodate in-world for knowing that ARAC will inevitably be the norm, though. I suppose that was probably the point.
