With the launch of World of Warcraft: Legion 7.3 update, Shadows of Argus, players are now off on an interplanetary jaunt to take the fight to the Burning Legion. Once and for all, we are told, the threat from the Legion to Azeroth will be ended. We've found five pretty interesting things about 7.3. See if you agree.

The artifact changes are great, though long overdue. And I agree, the look of Argus is underwhelming, same crap as Broken Shores, which was also crap.

This "new" content is tedious and annoying. I complete my dailies and GTFO of the new area immediately. I do not enjoy it at all, nor was it even remotely interesting day one starting with the first couple of quests.

So actual items that tick me off:
*Ship is too big. Playing a DK, it's miserable using NPCs for various tasks. Let us mount!
*Treasure boxes poof way too quickly. If I'm killing a big group that I trained to the box, I should damn well get to loot the box, not the other jerks who run past me, loot and leave their trained mobs on me too.
*Frustrating terrain. Seriously, enable flying. There are too many mobs, ridges you can't climb, and rivers/lakes of Fel that annihilates players.

I'm so disappointed in what they introduced, I'm on the fence about continuing to play right now. There are a lot of other games out there that could be less frustrating while we wait on Blizzard to launch their next expansion.

I really do like WoW. I come back to the game every expansion at some point in time... please fix the new area so it's a little more tolerable...

I honestly think I'm finally able to quit wow, especially if it keeps going in this direction. I have 17 110s and 4 of those are around ilvl 915. Nothing really feels rewarding, just more of a chore. For me, legendaries dont really feel great getting because your chance of getting one goes down to a certain point after you get one, plus that chance rate is shared across specs, so if you get one you didn't care for, you're boned for a while. Really stupid idea 1) getting rid of glyphs and 2) making so many legendaries that are also tied to heavy RNG. On top of that, you have the stupid titanforging, so even if you get an item that seems cool, you better hope it maxed titanforged. Too much lack of control and arbritary gates that make no sense, like having to wait on story elements because your followers have to do something that you supposedly can't which ends up taking 12-24 rl hours for them to complete.

The best part about this is that after there will be no more burning legion.

I'm also looking forward to seeing the ending cinematic.

Honestly I had no expectations and Blizzard delivered :P
Really looking forward towards the next expansion.
New zone feels like too much of a chore. If I have to be honest Tanaan Jungle was quite a bit of fun, especially if you compare it to this one. Perhaps if they allow flying it would be better, but I doubt they will do it in the next 2-3 months.

I dumped WoW at the beginning of WoD. I don't miss it one bit. I got back into tabletop RPG's and it's so much better.

Great review Suzie !! I found Argus to appear very dreary, and would've preferred a more colorful zone. It's awesome that I can upgrade some of my gear to 910 by collecting veiled argunite, and I love the new portals. Time-wise, they're more player friendly than using gryphons, and it keeps the player more engaged in the game. A flight whistle for Argus would be awesome. My biggest complaint is the time players are having to waste trying to get to, and open those Augari treasure chests. If it's impossible to open those at this juncture of the patch, then Blizz should remove them. They're only frustrating players, and it feels like Blizz is intentionally wasting our time.

There are so many better games out there, people need to let this bloated unimaginative beast die. Blizzard is just milking people now.

Agreed. Unimaginative landscapes and grindy content seem to be par for the course now, as well as completely insipid storylines. Oh, and content lifted from Diablo 3. I almost punched my monitor when they lifted 'The Butcher' from D3 in WoD. Exact same fight, and he even spouts some of the same fucking lines during the fight. Sorry, but I'm not paying $15 / month for rehashed, recycled, lazy, unoriginal crap like that. Maybe I'm just crazy, but I expect a company to EARN my money.

as someone who came late to the party and tried to give WoW a chance so many times because so many friends played i would always ask myself was this game always so grindy with very lil meaningful rewards. guess i'm really not crazy and for the record im the kinda guy who would grind for mats all day everyday in any game with a decent crafting system.i would always just keep asking myself how do people enjoy this!?!?!

guess i'm not as crazy as i thought lol

Haven't played WoW consistently since DeathKnight. I always come back to play a new class until the 30 day sub ends.

I don't know what your beef is, dude. (Or are we saying bro now?) Blizzard knows what players want. AND on top of that, they, and only they, know the best way to play their game. Get with the program, man (1960-70s version of dude/bro).

And yeah, this is a double helping of snark because you totally nailed where Blizz's head is these days. It's almost as if the fail of Project Titan sucked every last ounce of creativity out of them and all they can do is retread stuff that wasn't that good the first time around.

Problem is they took the grind from D3 as well. But that one I don't mind because the combat is fun and polished, and while you're grinding toward a goal you can actually progress in other ways. Rifts, treasure goblins, and sweet loot drops happen on a regular basis. WoW doesn't have that, you grind toward a goal and receive almost nothing on the way. It's boring, and arbitrary gating on certain things makes it even worse. You can play five hours per day, but gain only slightly more than someone who plays for one. Unless you have friends or a guild you enjoy playing / socializing with, there's no point. May as well just do your dailies, check your missions, then log off and go play something else. The design is beyond stupid.

The best EQ / WoW clones at least try to add stuff to keep people engaged. Yeah, a lot of it isn't terribly good or innovative, but at least they're trying, which is more than I can say for Blizzard.

last time i played wow they did the big world change with Cataclysm. I think that was like 2010.. Since then, every xpac looks like a re-hash of the last. What are some new things they have done to make wow fun? or is it still new xpac, new daily area, new raid, new drops, new ilevel.. rinse repeat. kind of meh to me but I do get the thrill of chasing some gear set or whatever i used to be that person until i realized it just wasnt fun anymore to do that. RIP to my paladin HollyLuyah lol

They removed the ridiculous time-gating that you had to go through on every character.

    Your pain shows @SBFord

At least there are decent alternatives that people can play these days during the barren times - this being the last patch despite Blizzard saying that they had listened to peoples' concerns about lack of added content ...... again.

I cannot see them moving to the paid content (but optional sub) system that Zenimax have (had to) adopt for ESO though. If they did they would have to take new content seriously and no new content would mean no money coming in.

I really regret buying Legion cause I played the first month and then quit again. At this point I can finally say I will NOT be purchasing the next expansion. There is literally nothing they can do to get back...well...there is something:

    1) Get rid of the stylized 2003 graphics for some more realistic ones that take advantage of new technology
    2) 4k textures on everything
    3) go back to being super difficult, bring back talent trees, glyphs, remove all forging and the RNG, make legendaries legendary again.
    4) Do all these things and call it WoW 2
    5) No longer be super inclusive with their game to program for the lowest common denominator player

Yeah, they won't so. good bye to WoW. In the meantime I am playing on a private server and having some fun, but patiently waiting for Ashes of Creation and Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen.

    Two thumbs down to I-levels.

The content could be a 10/10 but i levels alone makes it all a load of crap to me.Such a lazy design,it really bothers me how the entire industry is looking to make cheaper games, cutting corners and people keep supporting it.

Announce housing, announce no instances, announce real living features like you would expect a character to have.
I personally am not buying into anymore 1990's game design,we are well past that stage, time to put out some effort, i want to see games/content worthy of 2017.
Two things important to me,i will never ever play another I level game nor a game with yellow markers over npc heads,if a developer doesn't understand immersion i have no use for that developer.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
