even if the author leaves it happen how are you going to put like 10 mil poeple (cause there are so much hp fans) in hogwards? (1000 servers?) just like WoW ? woulndt be cool altough i realy like the books/movies and a mmorpg would be cool to

Even if the author had allowed it to be published you can get 35k people on each seamless world servers. That technology has been around for years now. I would imagine something like a large server farm of these and the cost for monthly subscriptions would be like $18 US because of the popularity and cost to operate such servers.
I would let Turbine make the game since they are the only company to successfully capture a movie into a MMORPG.

I will never play/read/watch a Harry Potter game/book/movie now that I know the truth about Dumbledore, now i realize what Dumbledore and that other kid where doing late at night at Dumbledore's house in the last book.
WoW, I'd like if the game are made, I'm so fasnated to Harry, if I can control a magic stick like him, then I will choose everywhere I'd like to go... no, fly to
Never read any Harry Potter book did you? The idea of a Harry Potter RPG sounds cool, you start as a child, choose one of the Houses and learn spells etc.
Well, which movie really "fits" to the book? I didn't read the "Lord of the Ring" books, but I guess anyone who read them would say "the movie is nice, but not as good as the book". So give it a chance, try the books, imagination is much better than some actors trying to do some career.
I've never been a fan of Harry Potter. I find it very gay... I don't know why, I haven't really looked into it much. I'm into fantasy but from what I've seen in the Harry Potter series (movies), no thanks. I don't really have any reasons... I just don't like it. Weird
--------------------------- Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 are At our Doorsteps! We can only hope that they will come really soon.
Movies are usually a pale reflection of the original source material.
This is definately the case with the Harry Potter series.
As much fun as it is to see the characters come to life on the BIG screen the characters have been reinterpreted by the screen writer and then by the director and again by the actor.
Then time and money determine the amount of content that is included, often characters that have large amounts of time devoted to them in books but who's role is devoted to a subplot that provides depth and the sense of emersion have their roles in a movie minimalised or removed all together.
There is a reason the Potter books have such a huge following, they allow people to use their imagination.
As a MMORPG I don't know if it's possible to recreate the same sense of emersion, that said I think if the game is set in the greater wizarding world and is set 10-20yrs post the last book it would allow the makers alot of room in terms of storyline and expanded lore.
On a side note I'd love to see some other books bought into the MMO universe, like David Eddings, The Elenium and The Tamuli series would lend themselves to this style of game.
As would many of the books of Raymond E Feist.
They both contain many races, factions etc men at arms, magic, the greater good and evil etc.
Being a fan of fantasy I actually wouldn't be closed to the idea of playing a harry potter MMO, provided that it was well done and that they did good justice to the world the books is set in (which is hard to do)
well im just gonna be waiting for the game started here in MMORPG.. well i'm crazy about this movie and i play also the xbox harry potter game...
i hope MMORPG would make a great one ...

Nope wont happen anytime soon, the license to Harry Potter belongs to the author who isn't letting it happen.

I don't care that I've already know the truth if the game will be made some excellence as Lord Of Ring.

lol Harry Potter MMORPG xD Nice idea.
If it would be for free (but if EA will bring it out it would be no way for
free) I would try it of course
But one thing will be crazy. Think of all these Potters/Grangers...
running through the school
Only possibility: You can create a stundent of one of these
houses. Mmmmm.... lol damn now i want to play it xD
So if you see a slytherin student named thomethy, running around, killing
noobs you know that´s me ;D j/k
Good imagination. I will give a try also.
Yep..may it will be another masterpiece?
It could work but to have broard appeal it would have to set in the wide wizarding world, if it was just based as a Hogwarts based game it would BLOW.
sure... give J.K Rowlling more money, why not? you are all just a bunch of suckers, i dont see whats so good about harry potter, kinda... suxs
no i didnt... i saw the movie, and it isnt that big of a deal, i dont see what is so fascinating

Yeah,it could be nice,XD.
What you are saying is serious? Could you tell more, for I really never heard that.
I would surely want to see what a great story like HP would look in a game..
I am just afraid that they would ruin it to like htey did to my beloved SWG....
pls let some1 make it, and let it be good, millions of ppl would play it
As long as it doesn't interfere with Bioware making their new Star Wars MMO, I have no problems. I'd rather see Bioware's KOTOR:Online come out first.
