To your first point.  It's not just the delay itself. It's the way Jeremy mocked people who told him his timeline was unrealistic.
This is really what it boils down to. Jeremy got upset about trolls spreading misinformation. He lashed out which he shouldn't have done. Your feelings got hurt and now you have an agenda to hurt him. Because outside of that one incident about the original timeline you have nothing...
Again... totally false info from the echo chamber.   Let's just start with the misinformation statement.   Was it misinformation when people stated that there was no way he could deliver the promised game in 18 months? Or was it misinformation to say it would be done and mock those who claimed otherwise? Did people donate money based on that misinformation? Can they be refunded?

Go ahead and answer that one before you even THINK of using the misinformation kinard again.

I am in no echo chamber dude. I barely post on the CoE website and don't use their Discord.

The misinformation related to many topics such as game features, purchasing options etc.

They gave their reasons why they did not make their initial timeline. That single incident that you keep on about has to be taken in context with the general misinformation that preceded it. The fact some of the posters spreading that misinformation have subsequently been banned from this forum supports my view that they were in fact just trolls out for some drama.

You have taken that single incident where you were "disrespected" and carried on with a hate campaign.

As far as I am concerned, Slap is 4 and 0 and is calling this one accurately.  I dont see any misinformation posted by Slap here.  I see a CEO who is in trouble because he way underestimated the time and money needed to create his vision so now he has to sell $10 tickets to vote for a king.

The only misinformation I see here is when Jeremy stated that thousands of people requested this $10 king ticket crap or that they requested to have their founders packages devalued.  Can you show me the poll where Jeremy got this information from "thousands"?
See this is not about whether someone can "call out a game as success or failure". Hell I also thought Greedmonger and Pathfinder were absolute rubbish but I didn't haunt their forums constantly hating on them. So I am 2-0?

Of course, as always anyone that does not hate the game is a blind fanatic.

I don't know anything about the $10 tickets and I don't care. Their funding rate has skyrocketed the last few weeks so clearly there are people that wanted whatever they have added to the store. So your latest false claim of dishonesty seems to be completely irrelevant/wrong. Just like most of the negativity you see on this forum.

I will bet you also believe that increased ice cream sales indicate an increased number of shark attacks at the beach?  (Hint, both are caused by hotter temperatures and are totally unrelated)

They had a sale and offered lots of individual items that were not available before without buying a bigger package, of course their funding increased.  That is no measure of the average backers feeling about the sale.  Microsoft stock price has continued to rise for years, does that mean everyone loves Microsoft and windows 10?

The tickets are to fill out a kingdom spot with a player supported by the community. Of course the money helps, but so would $10k from a "whale" (oh, and how many king packages would sell according to the know-it-alls?). But selling another package to "whale" would also be wrong. Getting money, anyway SbS do it is wrong, not getting money is wrong. It's a cashgrab, they'll never fund it. *chuckles* I don't know where Caspian stated that thousands of people requested this $10 king ticket funding tactics, but I'm sure you can provide a link.

As far as game-calling goes, I haven't looked through all Slapshot's posts (the amount is impressive), to see if they're the only games he's "called", but I have a strong feeling it's not. I'll take your word for it, though. MO and PFO are on the mmorpg.com's gamelist. I expected them to be cancelled if they we're, as you say, called out. Agreed, neither of them are huge hits - but they haven't crashed and burned completely like CoE are destined to.  Being right on the timeline and wrong on the CoE kickstarter kind of balances eachother out.  He was adamant they'd never raise the 900k, but they did. CoE hasn't failed yet.  I call this 1-0 and that is taking a fanboy's word on any miscalls.

He is not illustrating a 1:1 relationship.  He is making an incorrect assumption based on his data.  He said:

"their funding has skyrocketed so clearly people wanted whatever they added to the store".

Lets say 100 people backed the project and then this happened and 10 people purchased some items.  Sales have now jumped up by 10%.  Does that mean the other 90 people are happy?  NOPE.  Does it mean they are sad?  again NOPE.  I am just pointing out the fallacy in his logic that you seemed to have missed.

My understanding from looking at the posts on the official site is that there is a mixed opinion and many founder pack buyers are not happy while many lower tier pack buyers are happy because now they can buy items that were only included in more expensive packages.

While I am sure it helped bring in more short term money, how many whales did they anger over this?

Based on your interpretation, If they sold one item in the store you could also say "clearly people wanted whatever they added to the store".  That is a solid argument that proves nothing.

If I recall correctly, the original point in question that caused this debate was the lead producer saying that "Thousands requested it".

The shop selling a bunch after having a sale in no way proves that thousands requested that sort of thing.  Especially if most of those sales were made to a small handful of whales as is usually the case with most F2P revenue models instead of a large quantity of people.

With CoE there are some obvious features that could be cut, elyriamud, the web-based throne game and the offline version of the game. Instead of focusing on making one game they are now trying to make three different versions of the game plus the full game.

The team behind life is feudal handled it a lot better, they made a smaller version of their game and sold it separately so that it could help fund the full version of the game.
Well I meant the actual game. I don't even know whether these other extracurricular projects were announced during their KS. If I was a paying customer and found out about ElyriaMud/Vox, the browser game, etc, and etc, I would get a million red flags and pull my money outta there.

Also, I never understood how Caspian doesn't consider this entire shop setup as P2W, in fact their entire community lays on semantics: all of them detest P2W elements, but the entire project is a P2W machine.

They were announced shortly after. What they did announce during the kickstarter was a bunch of stretch goals.

Before that they had a bunch of features going far beyond the whole souls, bloodline and family histories. Its fine adding things like housing, having extensive crafting but they also want player created dungeons, player created professions, a system involving cartography and navigations, systems for identities, disguises and reputation, technology and research, add to that a parkour system.

Instead of just picking a few features to make a different kind of game they pretty much try to add everything they can think of.

Yes that is exactly the case. I started keeping track of the funding because of a discussion on here as to how much they had raised. So I got curious whether they can continue generating funds.

I am enough of a fan that I want them to succeed. I really don't care how they raise their funds, as long as you cannot buy $10 voting tokens once the game launches.

Strawman? Funding has increased. Are you speculating that only a handful of people are driving the increase? It is certainly possible but you have little to support that assertion.

Personally I think every Tom, Dick and Harry is buying stuff like surnames and coat-of-arms.

Also, can anyone confirm whether the $10 is limited to one per account or can you buy an unlimited number? Don't care either way. If a handful of guys enable the game to be made, give them a kingdom I say! There wouldn't be a damn game otherwise.

For a guy that follows the game and tracks their funding daily it's hard to believe you have no idea how the funding works.  I mean it's right there in the announcement:

There is no limit to the number of tokens that can be purchased or received

So yes, I can confirm that there is no limit to the number of $10 votes you can buy.  They need to make sure the community is enabled to properly "vote"!

Let me get this straight.. you are such a fan that you track and publish daily funding figures for the game on here... but you have no idea about the big announcement about the sale of $10 tokens so you can vote for the open king spot?

Yes that is exactly the case. I started keeping track of the funding because of a discussion on here as to how much they had raised. So I got curious whether they can continue generating funds.

I am enough of a fan that I want them to succeed. I really don't care how they raise their funds, as long as you cannot buy $10 voting tokens once the game launches.
Sure.  Lock in your advantage. That's the whole draw.
That's actually one of my concerns,  I'd rather they continue to sell advantages post launch, otherwise only those willing to do so beforehand will get them.

I don't think you really mean that, in a totally hyperbolic example if someone came along and offered to give them $10M with the only condition being their character would be made "god-emperor" of a portion of the game world, undying, who could never be dethroned of his lands I'm assuming you wouldn't be good with it.

Of course. P2W is bad in an open world territory control PvP game with looting but this monetization scheme takes it to another level. They lure folks in with the idea of buying advantages that the plebs won't have when the game "launches".  So it's not just P2W... it's Pay Early 2 Win.

Remember... a few months back even one of their biggest whales who bought not one but 2 of the 6 kingdoms on the same server wrote a long post about how it was starting to become too P2W and he feared that after launch nobody would come...  After all, advantages are useless if the plebs don't show up.

Agreed, the newcomers have to believe they still have a chance to succeed , even if that's not the reality.
