It seems the only attraction is pvp. Seems like a single player experience. Can a player do everything alone if it were offline ?
I have yet to see a topic where players are playing with anyone, all YouTubes people are alone !!
I can't prove it but MOST players don't like the PvP....... So why is this game online ?
This is NOT at troll post, I'm totally serious. Why the hell is this game online ?

So what your saying is BDO is a single player experience and a separate individual game that has nothing to do with PvP. HOWEVER at any given time a player can spend money in the cash shop and play a different game that is PvP.
And this is how the Asians do it ?
What was mentioned as the attraction by many was the life skills, and thus I assume at least partly the economy for those that delight in crafting, which wouldn't work single player. BDO supports this kind of play differently from other MMORPGs.
Since it appears you can now be immune to PvP if you don't do a particular quest at level 50, it can provide a sandbox-like experience without having to fight other players as the character levels sacrificed may not be as important to someone that prefers life skills.
As for story quests, dungeons, and the like, you can get in the majority of games with a PvE element. If that was what the life skill players wanted they would have just played those games and not put up with the forced PvP they used to have to endure.
The reason it is online is that it wouldn't work otherwise, because even though the life skills can be used alone they ultimately depend on and result in interaction with others. Why gather materials without crafters to sell them to? Why craft without buyers for your wares? Why train horses if there is no market for them?
There is plenty of PvE in BDO, just not the story, dungeony, raidy kind.
Links would be appeciated.

It would be better served to be offline or maybe 3-4 more players join in ala Borderlands 2.
I was hoping for BDO to be more like Archeage but better, but that did not happen.
I agree with OP though, I have NEVER seen a group in BDO twitch streams or videos, ever. EVER. Maybe zergs to kill world boss or something but never people playing together.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Also a game does not even need PVE to be an online game.

Not made in 1995.
Also single player titles usually require well made and engaging PVE content, online games not so much, just need to load them up with multiple grind mechanics.
BDO has both bases well covered.

All mmos have trading, it's always been part of mmos. It's always been an extra thing in the back round.
BUT a game that should be off line, trading is interwoven to keep the game "hostage" as online !
BDO should be an offline game.
Ok Chyeyane,
I'll give my honest opinion of my anger. The bottom line is both I and MANY OTHERS are searching for a community based game. One that has a difficulty level where you depend on others. If you notice I don't use the words " old school ". Their is a reason for that, because mmos changed and I'm absolutely convinced developers changed this with the help of marketing. So it's not because of players desires. Asian mmos with cash shops have been in the back round since the age of time. NO ONE IN THE WEST PLAYED THEM. Their popular now because nothing is the west is being developed because of the re-molding of what we have now.
So yes I'm mad. I'm fighting city hall. I guess you can say "I'm sticking it to the man".
I'm really not an angary person, it's only mmos..... I'll try much harder to be nicer (try), but I'm still mad about this as hell !
