No. But i sold a bunch of stuff on the RMAH on D3 before it closed down (in fact, i started to sell the moment the closing was announced), and made something like $100 .. and enough for me to play the next few Blizz games & expansion "for free".

so? Back in the EQ days, there were lots of EQ accounts on ebay. Now if I am a seller (unfortunately i never did), and sell an account.

So what if i violate the TOS. It is not like i am going to play that account anymore. If it is banned, that is on the buyer, not me.

I sold my original WoW account for $350 back in..... 2007??? Maybe 2006. 

That's completely unofficial, though, since that type of behavior is against the EULA, lol. 

Even with severing it to that extent, I still came back for wrath, lol.

In the days of old MMOs where it took a long time to get items it actually mattered.  I don't think it matters at this point since everyone can get everything fairly easily if they really want to.  Item selling was a big thing in Everquest.  I never supported it though and it's part of why I don't support free to play games.

I like to return to old accounts to see what's new.  Never sold any of them.  Still have my SWG folder installed and CD's in case the game comes back.  :-)

Yep. I used to sell my WoW account while I was in high school. It led to my first account getting banned. 

I sold it to gold farming websites for around 150 to 200 dollars, then I stole it back, and did it again the next week to another site. It was prior to them implementing the requirement of the secret question / birthday / ID requirement to sell to those sites. It didn't work all the time as they would cancel payments but I did get it a couple times. 

Also when Mythos was in closed beta, I had an account. I logged into the game, within 30 seconds some dude asked me if he could buy my account in game for 50$, I had gotten the key for free, he paypaled me the money and I gave him the account. I expected him to chargeback but it never happened. He really just wanted another account to play with.

Way way back in my UO days, I purchased a portable forge form a guy on ebay.  It was some bugged asset from the games beta period and I bought it from a guy in their QA department.  The game was designed so you could only carry so much weight and then had to take the ore into a city to smelt it into ingots.  With the portable forge, I could walk around for hours and mine and smelt.  I was always scared someone would see me mining for so long and report me to a GM but I used that glitched forge for the last year I played and made a ton of in game gold selling the ingots.

I don't know that I could bear to sell any of my characters, at least not the ones I spent any amount of time with at all.

That being said, I do have a GW 2 character I think I played for all of about 3 hours since that's how long I was able to stomach the game.  If anyone's interested, hit me up! Lol

Second Life.   It's normal gameplay, and very expected.   Ended up coming out far enough a head to buy a semester of college books when I finally pulled out.  

Was a scripter, but since I had formal IT training my stuff came out better in a lot of cases.   My favorite was when all of my competitors stuff broke in an update, but mine kept chugging along just fine (came out $200 ahead in 8 hours, and $400 that week).   Also was willing to work with just about anyone or at least listen (since it was actually fun to do so IMO), it was also pivotal to me to do so (Since they would foot the expenses of land, managing their shop (which they were usually doing already, with my stuff being a shiny bauble to make their stuff more interesting), and had loyal customers).   In some cases I could get something out and working in 15 minutes and would end up with a trickle of pennies coming in every day or so, for an extended period of time.   Other cases I could spend a weekend when my part time job was slow, and end up getting a coffee's worth every few weeks.  

For a hobby it earned a lot, if it was for a job it would have been a waste of time.

I used to unlock jedi in SWG and sell the accounts for upwards of £1000. It was a good income for maybe half a year. I sold a couple of my EVE accounts too.

I also sold currency in EQ, EQ2, and SWG, powerlevelling in CoH, VGSoH, and EQ2.

Whilst I wouldn't dream of buying for myself, the fact that people do helped pay for my tuition fees.

 I used to play a game called Knight Online. I sold my level 63 Orc battle priest Shujinko with all +8 cloth and a glass belt on eBay for $500 back in 2005/2006. Our quild leader Gavok sold his max level 70 archer,  one of only a handful of max level toons at that tine for 2000$. This was all pre expansions.

Note, i sold my toon and went to wow because a crooked GM Aresties wiped all the gold from my account because we caught him spawning bosses and killing them for gimself.

My first MMO was SWG soon after launch. I had no idea that buying/selling items was against TOS. I bought the SOE 5 (I think) pack of MMO's new in box on eBay. I also was seeing a lot of credit sellers on eBay too. Well, if it's on eBay it has to be legit right? So I bought about 10 million (again I think, been 15+ years) credits for around $20 right after I made my first character. I was like a kid in a candy store! Mos Eisley Cantina LOVED me! I was making it rain up in that joint! One of the very few times I actively role-played. Docs and Ent's hollered my name like I was in a 80's bar in Boston every time I stepped in. I had zero idea, like most people did, of what I was meant to do in this huge world. Still when the game finally died I still had at least half that amount left.
