Rift professions current vs prime?

I saw that in prime you can only have 3 profession slots.  But I couldn't find any information about what non-prime rift has for professions that's different from this?  Does current rift allow you to have all professions on one character, whether or not that requires unlocking more profession slots with $?
I want to help design and develop a PvE-focused, solo-friendly, sandpark MMO which combines crafting, monster hunting, and story.  So PM me if you are starting one.
