Imagine a world where people talk to machines.Machines never hold conversations though, only advise and command.
We are a part of a futuristic dystopian cyberpunk megalopolis set amidst forests. We are regular people, well you were, i am a witch.
Not the blairwitch but i live in the forest too. I have dark hair, pale skin and a big nose. I can become someone else temporarily but not you, never you.
I have a broomstick too but it's not for riding.
There are other witches too,not many. We are not the bad guys, neither were you before the happening.
We have a key difference though, you don't know where you live -SPOILER ALERT -you live in a mental asylymn.
You are all governed by doctors and politicians just like in real life. They are governed by automated machines. You swallow your pills, you do your chores.
The witches are free and know the truth but they were presented to you as demons. You grab the torches and your made up weapons and you hunt in the forests every eve.
Some are confonted, some are turned, others die.You are all killers, serial killers maybe. You enjoy the hunt.We enjoy the river and your reflections.
200 players per server maybe less.
Ever evolving story line with alternate scenarios.
No chosen ones, we are all part of the same compost heap.
No guilds, only gangs and covens.Limit 10 people.Only formed in game for social reasons.
Weapons and outfits are created through quests and objectives.
Those who die, evolve to a different server in an alternate scenario or switch characters.
Every player is a character with a written storyline and background but not a determined path.
Central hubs are storyline bricks.Every hub- a new plot-every brick-a piece of the puzzle.
Weekly polls about characters/players/, intrigues, policies and storyline advancements.
Only roleplay, noOmghaxxor fu bunnyhopping b$^$%#
Spacebar is disabled.
It shall be named:"Kathleen"
Fitter,healthier,more productive.
Don't take it seriously. No use crying over spilt milk.
Hope you are all doing good.

You can see my sci-fi/WW2 book recommendations.
Where's your franchise, your IP? Hopefully it has the "intuitive" (for that read never changing) controls of WoW or most gamers will not give it 10 minutes.
The OP's idea is better suited to a novel, which if that does well gets a film; franchise created you can then go for the MMO.
I really loved the idea, maybe as an indie this would get of the ground; just don't expect mainstream funding.
A hollywood AI script writing machine is scouting the interwebz gathering ideas. It will suck mine and pull out a maze runner out of its back sockets, all in a day's work.
I think you should make what you enjoy and if other people enjoy it too then that's great. I'm not a huge fan of modern day statistic gathering. If nothing else you will learn something from the experience.
