If your a completitionist, be sure to get the lore book addon

I had to remake my level 49 character (was furthest I got in ESO, almost made it to 50), because after getting the addon that shows lorebooks, I realized after trying to figure out how to get some lore books...and searching on google...completing quests makes SOME lore books disappear and become unretrievable.

I guess I could have just made an alt, but I wanted to keep the same name and mostly want to stick with one "main" character. Alts ruin games for me (I have a problem in general of making way too many alts and never making it to endgame or even finishing games, trying to break that habit).

So my only choice was to delete my level 49 and remake. I'll have to pay really close to attention to what lore books are only available during certain quests. Since I'm a huge completitionist (which probably sounds weird that I never make it to endgame, cause of huge alt-itis at the same time lol)

Kinda annoying, but at least leveling is fun.

But if your a completitionist, be sure to get the addon that shows all the lore books, otherwise you are gonna miss quite a substantial amount of books only available during certain quests.

    (spoilers)

The first lorebook I discovered I couldn't get anywhere was in...

    andrano ancestral tomb

there is a lorebook in there only available when you are doing the quest. That is when I found out I screwed up other places as well. Especially if I'm forcing myself to do only one character, to try and beat alt-itis that I severely have.

Kinda sucks gotta level again, but I put everything in the guild bank so only thing lost was levels and nothing else really.

I'm not a completionist but I am a bit of a grammar freak in my old age.

My eye started twitching when I read the headline, hehe. My first thought was, wouldn't a completionist be a bit of a perfectionist, but...

I know, so hard to resist! Sort of failing.

Usually, if you miss a lorebook inside an instance, it'll pop up somewhere around the outside of it.
ah, is that so? I looked it up, and sometimes its just gone forever for certain books according to the post. But the post was from late 2016/early 2017, so things could have changed. I didn't think to look outside lol. I hope didn't delete a character for nothing.

IDK about the new zones - can't remember honestly, but in the old vanilla zones there are actually only a couple of lore books in quest instances that you can enter only once. I remember the second fighter's guild quest instance has one but can't really remember any others.

Each version 1 of the 4-man group dungeons also has one but those are repeatable.

One thing that add-on will show you is that each book has multiple locations in a zone.
