I don't know how this can replace two monitors "for gaming" as I don't know anyone and have never heard of someone that plays any single game split across two monitors. I do know many people who play on one monitor and use the other for things like Discord, browsing, Twitch, etc... I guess you could play games in borderless window mode and have that stuff on the sides of the game screen, but that kind of defeats the purpose of an ultra wide "for gaming" doesn't it?

Honestly, even making that statement brings into question the validity of the review.

I looked into this and unless I am mistaken (which is possible) if you purchase this screen you cannot return it unless it is defective. That alone is a problem..

Refresh rate needs to be higher for gaming, apart from that very nice.

Really depends for what types of games you're playing. If you're mostly a casual player that plays MMO's and RPG's then 100hz is more than plenty.

Things I dislike about ultrawide monitors:

    1. Curved surface distorts texts near edges

    2. Take up far too much space - I'd rather run two 2K monitors side by side

    3. Refresh rate is not high enough on this one

    4. 21:9 aspect ratio sucks in my opinion - as many games lose vertical view when they stretch it to fit 21:9 (example Overwatch - you're worse off on 21:9)

    1. I've tried several curved ultrawide monitors and none of them distorted text near the edges. The monitor I'm using now - Samsung C34F791 is more curved than some of the other monitors I've tried(Alienware AW34128DW & Acer X34) and it has no text distortion near the edges.

    2. Two monitors side by side takes up more space than an ultrawide.

    3. If you're not doing competitive gaming or playing mostly FPS's then 100hz is more than enough, especially if you play MMO's or RPG's.

    4. When I first started shopping for monitors I told myself I wouldn't get one with a curved screen and I wouldn't get an ultrawide. Well, after experiencing playing games like ESO, Lotro, SWTOR(to name a few) in 21:9 and on a curved display there was no going back for me. It was the most immersive gaming experience I've had that wasn't VR. Plus like someone else said, watching movies in 21:9 is also great.

I have the Asus ROG PG348 which is 3440x1440 @100mhz and I love it. Used it for my 640 hours in Witcher 3, using it for ESO. Love it. Was worth every penny. Makes everything feel more immersive. Highly recommend widescreen :-).

The distortion on any curved monitor is obvious to anyone.  Just put some small text near the edge of the monitor and you will see it.  They all do it!

Whatever you say then. I didn't notice any distortion on mine but it's a good thing I bought a monitor to play games and watch movies, not to read books.
