Well they know they actually have to sell this one to the players this time... last 2 i think most just brought the deluxe edition never even thinking they would have started the development back at square one.

TBH i haven't even logged in to play the second expansion yet... first one was a total let down, just a circle floating small island you only visit if its on the weekly.

This one is going to have to show alot to get me to put more money down on Destiny 2.

Sylvanas better be the leader. Hey maybe Bungie can make her a raid boss before Blizzard does!

Looks good, adding a lot of what we asked for. One thing that still blows my mind that is missing is in-game matchmaking for Nightfalls, Prestige nightfalls, and FFS raids... Honestly, I can live without a matchmaker for raids. But for nightfalls, why make me go to a 3rd party website to make a post LFG. Its 2018, get with it. Its like how POE makes you go to 3rd party sites to trade, which is at the heart of the game if you want to map in endgame effectively. Stupid.

I would like to see raids, but if they want to lock that behind well coordinated clans, thats fine. Not for me then.

Give me, as a more solo player (and there are legions like me) something to do as a solo player endgame wise...challenging and rewarding specifically built for a solo player experience (not just solo'ing a nightfall designed for a team of 3).

I have my wallet out for this, not swiping the card just yet. I want to see some iteration and more news about it before I do.

This expansion is a major step in the right direction.
I know I will be buying this. I like what I see so far, but it's the fact that I have a lot of friends that play as well.

The thing that hurts me is the fact that this isnt the first time this has happened.
Destiny 1 changed everything for the better with the TTK expansion.
This looks to possibly be the same scenario.

So will it be a trend continuing in D3?

Is this part of the previous Season Pass or is this a new set of DLC they're going to charge for?

It will be separate I'm sure.
A friend told me they have the expansion + annual pass on the PS Store for $70

*new location on The Tangled Shore

    --------------------
I sincerely hope this is a joke and they going to release a lot more than a single new zone?

The Dreadnaught in Taken King expansion was huge with a lot of different zones. That was a true expansion!

We know this for sure from VG247:
Destiny 2: Forsaken will be made available in three editions: standard ($39.99), the game plus the Annual Pass ($69.99), and the Digital Deluxe Edition.
The Annual Pass edition includes a copy of Destiny 2: Forsaken, premium digital content and the expansion pass. The Annual Pass includes seasonal updates and live events available to all Destiny 2 players, plus bonus rewards and the three content releases outlined above.
Those who purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition ($79.99) will receive a copy of Destiny 2: Forsaken, the Annual Pass, and the following premium digital content...

So it sounds like a separate DLC fee that isn't included in the original Season Pass, but it's unclear.

70 bucks is for Forsaken + Season pass which is 3 more DLCS

Talk about DLC worth the hype.

So I would need to buy the first two (or is it three) dlcs then buy the xpac if I don't buy the $70 version I then will have to buy the dlcs that come after the xpac?

I have the base game can anyone explain to me how much it would cost to play this game?

This is an amazing turn around for Destiny 2 as a whole. The real bummer being that the rest of the new season pass will almost certainly be small dlcs akin to the first two. Unless they have more big one planned after the release of the final in this coming season pass. Either way, feels like they're rushing to Destiny 3 which is dissapointing.

LOL. Charging another huge amount of money to fix a game that players have already spent a huge amount of money on. GG Bungie.....GG....

If players keep lapping this crap up like good little doggies, companies are going to continue to release broken, content-less games and then "apologize" and charge you to fix it. At this point, for new players what would it cost to buy the game and all the DLC's (including this latest announced one)? Like $200? Laughable.....
  • KajidourdenKajidourden Member EpicPosts: 3,030
Huh, now I might actually buy it.

Correct. The expansion only offers the expansion.
The annual pass provides their DLC 2.0.
None of it offers Curse of Osiris or Warmind.

However, they will most likely do what they did with Destiny 1 and start selling the base game + past DLC not long after the expansion is out.....typiccaly for the same price as when the base game came out.
I know a lot of people are waiting on the Destiny 2 'GoTY' version which provides all of this. Edit: To add, the original DLC is $35 for both. The expansion is $40 on it's own or $70 for both the expansion and annual pass. You'd be paying $105 for everything or $75 for the old DLC and expansion and not the new stuff coming with the annual pass

Problem with online games and those bundles is by that time the population is gone.

Imo this is what should have been in the base game.  Finally enough of a difference for me to buy in

Actually, it brought a lot of people back to the game in Destiny 1.
Destiny 2 has dwindled in players, but there's still plenty that can be done and I predict the same will happen here as it did in D1. I saw a lot of people at the twitch reveal willing to throw money at this and come back.
I know I'll be back once I'm done dealing with insurance over the lightning that struck my house and fried a lot of things.

However, i worry about the 'fool me once' philosophy

    What 200 $ ?
You can buy base game and DLCs on sale you know ?
And save up to 100 $. So 100 $ for over 100s hours of gameplay is a good deal for me.
    Worth it.

I'm excited for it, but it's a bit expensive tbh lol. I'll probably be getting it, I might wait until it goes on sale, though. After the way things went this year I am hesitant to jump right into pre-ordering. I'll decide after they give the details at E3, if the expansion isn't significantly larger than the previous two, then it isn't worth 40 dollars, and if the 3 dlc's (or whatever) that come with the annual pass aren't better than the previous, then it is not worth 30 dollars. I'm still not entirely positive on exactly what the Annual Pass is giving that won't be available to everyone else. The wording is confusing.
