    Apparently there are some who have claimed that the story was true and some who have said it was false.  But it's not entirely clear what the claims mean.  It's very plausible that AMD would have let Sony have some input on the architecture if that was the price of getting Sony to use AMD hardware for the PlayStation 5.  It's very unlikely that AMD would have decided to never again release a new architecture after GCN in 2012 except that Sony asked them to.

    It's more likely that the PS5 announcement will happen at that time. I would be very surprised if we got new consoles in 2019.
