World of Warcraft News - Now that we are in the lead up to Battle for Azeroth, Blizzard has announced that all content through Legion is available without actually having to purchase the game. You will still need to, however, maintain a subscription to access all that content. In addition, and if you wish to take part in the Battle for Azeroth content, you will need to purchase the expansion.

I think free boosts only come when you purchase a current expansion. You probably, at least from what I can tell on the store page, won't get one if you go this route. If you purchase BfA, you'd get one then.

You can purchase a character boost the same way you could before. The only free ones they offered came with expansions and that's still the case.

So buying BfA grants you a free 110 boost and if you want to purchase the boost individually you can do so in game via the Shop button on your character selection screen.

This isn't the quite the same case though. You still gotta pay to play old WoW content.

Why would it people off. How long ago did legion come out?

This might make me resub. Haven't played since mop. I used to hate the idea of people paying for max lvl character. But now it males sense.

Don't really want to slog through 100+ levels to see what's new.

People are stupid. They'd rather less people play their game than more, because they spend $50 buying some bits and bytes.

Yeah I was about to say this. I own all the expansions but my girlfriend hasn't ever bought one, but she had up to Warlords of Draenor last time we played without buying any of them.

It smart, despite it being an older title now its still a seller and its trying to be as return user friendly as possible. 14 years later and it still the top MMORPG in the west and top 4 world wide.... let that sink in.
