Why I quit Albion and why you should too!

Recently I was attacked by a mod in general chat. I defended myself and got muted. I then sent an E-mail to support and they doubled down the attack. 

In this day and age it's sad that there is yet another company out there that is actively shutting people down. BTW, I did not break any rules in the TOS. A SJW mod from the game took what I said out of context and decided to call me a childish name.

If you are getting attacked by a mod, won't post what you said, and then called said mod an SJW, I can already see what kind of person you are.

Yea, without screenshots of the actual text, not sure you'll garner any sympathy.  Even your paraphrasing leaves wide open the possibility you violated ToS with your chat.  Depending upon how you delivered the lines and whether you made a singular comment and stopped or continued.

Correct, but then that is another issue. I was told my comment was homophobic but not given any information beyond that. What did I specifically say that was homophobic? By the time I realized I was muted I tried to scroll up to screenshot the message but the game doesn't allow scrolling up a lot and by then the entire chat had already been replaced. Any evidence of what I said or didn't say long gone, only retained by the mods. 

Even in the reply E-mail they still didn't write down the specific message I said in global chat that was offensive. They force me to guess at what I said. If I'm going to be accused of saying something homophobic they should tell me what I said that was offensive. Otherwise I assume that I didn't say anything bad and thus was attacked by a SJW mod that took what I said out of context.

BTW I am a conspiracy theorist, I see this slowly happening all over the place. Conversations that people once had (especially in global chat) are slowly being censored in favor of a more PC global chat. Though I'm partly in favor of cleaning up filth from global chat across MMORPG's I don't think that an agenda should be pushed by the company doing it.

To whom it may concern,
At about 0500 UTC a SJW moderator attacked my character <Redacted> by calling him homophobe. Nothing that I said during the course of that morning was homophobic and definitely nothing was against the terms of service. This attack on my character should be looked into and that moderator disciplined. 
Censorship these days is becoming a huge problem and it saddens me that Sandbox Interactive might be a part of that problem. <Redacted>

Wow, how is this being taken out of context? You literally told someone who was a lesbian that you hope they find a cure for it. How is that not being a homophobe? That's not calling you a childish name, it's what you were being.

Noo, you tried the freedom of speech argument. When you agree to the ToS, you sign away your freedom of speech. They are always open for interpretation. And as a service that is open to everyone, they want to make chat feel as comfortable as possible. As you can in a quasi-pvp game.

Your second mistake was just a rookie mistake. You submitted a ticket calling the mod a SJW.  You clearly meant that as a derogatory term. You aren't going to get any sympathy from CS over that.

And finally. All this over a 1 hour mute? When you said a mod attacked you (your words), I assumed the punishment was actually severe.

Ironicly, I'm a huge drama queen. You are right I did make a rookie mistake, mostly because i've never had to deal with a company defaming me in global chat before.

That is your opinion and I respect that but you are using the word homophobe just like the mod did out of context. When people attack other speech by using strong words like racist, homophobe, bigot or a whole host of other words they lessen the meaning of those terms. This tactic of shaming a person by using a term a lot stronger than needed is abusive.

Honestly.  In this day and age, you should know not to mention sex, race, religion, ethnicity, food habits, business, politics, income status, etc.  We have become a very sensitive society.  I would say you can talk about the weather, but global warming... is it or isn't it man made?

You should go out of your way to offend people, but on the same hand, people should look to be offended by everything.

I appreciate you adding to the conversation but using an ad-hominem attack by calling me an idiot weakens your argument. It also shows that I may have come off a bit too inflammatory.  For respect of MMORPG.com I will stop posting on this topic.

I will leave with my final thought. Companies that hide behind ambiguous TOS need to stop kidding themselves into thinking that they are doing a service to society by silencing others. They aren't!

There's a difference between mentioning and instigating. 

The OP went out of their way to tell someone who was homosexual that they hoped they find a cure for it, insinuating it was some form of disease or mental issue. 

When in reality, if OP really has those beliefs, then sure, they can believe whatever they want even if it is homophobic, but they shouldn't go out of their way to spout hate towards people who live whatever way they don't agree with.

I don't know why it is so important for some people to announce to the world about their sexuality in a video game. I personally don't care. I am not playing a game to find out who is gay or straight. Thankfully with most games you can turn off faction or general chat.  It sounds to me like you were just trolling. However in our PC culture it is freedom of speech is one way but not another.

I suspect it was meant to be a joke, rather than taken seriously. 

Regardless, jokes made in bad taste or in the wrong context can have serious consequences and as others said are better avoided.

Also, SJW is a deliberate slur with the intent to devalue someone else's position....much like white knight or troll are here on the forums.

Idk if thats reason to get everyone to quit a game, but the degeneracy is real and normalized at this point. The SJW's are going to get offended and ban you, pretty much expected nowadays.

Probably it wasn't a coming out but a common joke pointing out that MMO players are usually males and mentioning having sex with women assumes the speaker is a male. I've seen this joke a couple of times in various MMOs. Hence the lesbian part is delayed in the next line and not in the same one as the "sex with women" part.

Well, my first thought, and opinion, is that people shouldn't be talking about their sex lives, preferences, etc in live chat. But that is what it is.

Having said that, your attitude toward people with other preferences isn't very understanding, inclusive or accepting.

The mod should have told everyone to knock it off and put you in your respective corners.

While it's your right not be to a tolerant person I certainly hope you aren't a hateful one.
