Given CIG's track record of monetization of many different aspects of Star Citizen's development, I thought it would be interesting to see what suggestions we could give them on other aspects to start charging for.
Legitimate or snarky is fine, but remember, they might actually do it.
My suggestion, which I think would be in character for the game and a cool thing to have, is this: Nose Art.
Planes (and even ocean ships in some cultures) had distinctive nose art, either by squadron or by the crew flying the plane. CIG could charge say, $10 for an area on the ship for personalized art. Very much in the historical spirit of piloting. Guilds could get matching insignia (at some small discount). Charge by the vessel for maximum profit. And since the personalized nose art would require human vetting to make sure nothing too objectionable gets through, you could add another fee to go to the front of the line to get your art approved.
More revenue streams, with unique appeal.
What'd be your suggestion?

Logic, my dear, merely enables one to be wrong with great authority.
Lore about how a group of elite pilots were unhappy with ships manufactured by established ship industry, and pooled their money to crowdfund an independently designed and manufactured ship. With only $3000 you'll get your name to Star Citizen's history books as one of those backers, as well as the ship with LTI + unique crowdfunder only paintjob.

Offer rewards to invite people to the game
1 person gives his referral link to someone
every 1 dollar that person spends, the first person gets 10 cents as compensation
That someone then gets someone to use his referral link
Then the 2nd person gets 10 cents, but the 1st person gets 1-3 cents
Sounds like a little, but that adds up quick over time when more and more people start sharing that link. Especially if someone pays 1000 dollars for a ship or something.

The "talent" will be actually live voiced over VOIP for an addition $1.99 per minute. It will be like 900 numbers way back when.
They can also sell genetically enhanced "gentialia" and performance boosters in the cash shop.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Hey, on the nose art, they could get famous game artist to design it for players. For a fee, of course.
