Blizzard's Unannounced Project: Visceral Combat, Co-Op, Action-Packed & Totally New - MMORPG.com News

A casual look at BlizzardCareers.com reveals that a lot of Diablo projects are in the works which is something that we've known for a while and are cautiously optimistic that more will be revealed at this year's Blizzcon. However, one thing piqued our interest: Blizzard's unannounced project that is looking for people interested in building an "action packed game" with a beautiful, visceral core combat experience" and that someone should have a "passion for co-op games, RPGs & board games".

Like they did with HOTS? They hit the market too late with that game too, plus they dumbed it down too much.

        As an ATVI shareholder we are quite happy with all there moves ... The BR market is fresh and ripe , right now ,, So your coming into the market late comment is entirely without merit and off base

The first thing that comes to mind is an asymmetrical multiplayer Diablo-like game. Something like Breach or Dungeon Land.

Overwatch is a team vs. team FPS. Battle Royales are typically a last man standing free for all.

There was not computer CCG dominating the market when hearthstone hit - hence why I didn't include it.  Nor was there an existing massive market on the computer.  Magic's game had a horrible interface and was not a big seller.  There were no fortnite/PUBG or DTOA2/LoL juggernauts in the market.  I assume you can see that?

Blizzards physical card game landed late and couldn't compete with the other physical card games either.  so they smartly went the digital route where a market hadn't been established.

Blizzard is good at finding untapped markets, players that aren't happy with the current offerings.  I don't believe they ever successfully made a real foothold in a saturated one when they entered.  And they even had to cancel two games where they tried Starcraft:Ghost and Project:Titan.

Wasn't TF2 essentially out a decade before Overwatch? There's been plenty of games similar to Overwatch, yet it still dominates the market. Same goes for Hearthstone. Besides, they could easily copy PoE's battle royale style just using D3's assets and probably crush PoE in terms of competition for that style (unfortunately). I think they might be working on some kind of PvE mode for OW though since that community has been wanting a mode like that for a good while now.

Magic's game had a horrible interface

There were literally dozens of CCG when Hearthstone hit the market , and MTG was the Dominant game at that time.

 Wether there UI was horrible or not is insignifigant here and detracting , And oddly enough most likely a contributing factor to why they were one-uped by Blizz at there own game of CCG ,  Bad UI or not the fact is they were the dominate CCG game at the time

The article is written poorly. The diablo game and the first person game are different. there are job postings for a Diablo game, a mobile game and an unannounced title

Then again, Blizzard doesn't really do single player games...

Something survival maybe. Since they don't have that in their portfolio yet.

After playing D3 i dont understand why everyone praise them so much.

And overwatch ads everywhere pissing me off.

That's a good point. They haven't held the top 5 spot for a couple of years now. Hearthstone rotates between 4th-8th place, mainly because Kripp plays it and if Kripp plays watching paint dry his followers would still watch it everyday. BfA is still survivng there but won't be long till it sink to the bottom of the barrel with the rest of the maggots. 

They need a winner to secure the top. I bet they will.

So, after playing Blizzard's weakest game, you don't understand why people like them? Try playing... pretty much anything else. Diablo 2, Warcraft 3, Starcraft 1 & 2, and World of Warcraft give better impressions.

I don't get the impression that they intend to make Monopoly/Mario Party in the Diablo Universe (as hilarious as Diablo Party would be. Damn, I want that now). 

It sounds more like they intend to take D&D design philosophies and integrate them into a co-op action game. This is why I think it could be a Diablo take on Breach/Dungeonland with their dungeon master type mechanics.
