ArcheRage - Archeage Private Server Condition

Hello

Many who played Archeage both live and private know me as Rai, i have been active for several years in the game and it was a blast for a time.

About live:  https://www.trionworlds.com/archeage/en/

Live servers - well, if there is a textbook example of things gone wrong ,you guessed it, Trion and Archeage, they have managed to beat all other contenders in categories of worst publisher, worst customer support, worst launch of online game, worst game balancing and server stability and aside of that they have done one thing best and that is

Title for the best p2w execution in the history of online gaming - they have milked out their well standing players so much to a point only whales remained on their servers to compete against eachother with who will spend more, leaving each and every player but the top 10 in permanent disgust.
That and the facts they had absolutely nailed the title most hated publisher tells a lot about the company.

It is hard to resist the p2w options of cash shops and trend that made live Archeage profitable sacrifing long term gains.
But private server tried and for a long time resisted implementing gamebreaking aspects of p2w.
There were still things, items available for those who invested $ but the leverage over F2P players was bearable.

Customer Support and overall ArcheRage Team Moto started out as Transpency, Listening to the community, Implementing fun content and events, Balancing the gameplay and so on, but got blured over the time.

For a while i have been making very long, helpfull and complex guides related to the game, helped other players with whatever knowledge they seeked about the game, and used my spare time to improve the community.
That earned me a moderator station in ArcheRage Team and i just continued doing what i already did with addition to making concept design for new events, support&feedback, and helping out in any way i could
towards both ArcheRage Team and equally so to the Community.

There came a point in time when i was asked to helped devs more than i would help community, by banning players who did not agree with dev oppinion, those who leaked gold sales being done by devs, and players which simply did not agree with the game getting unbalaned and having new content which no one liked or used.
Resources, time, money and patience were used in wrong ways, and while the devs thought community got spoiled and that they can go down certain roads without consequences, community thought otherwise. There were waves of bans, hypocrisy where they banned gold sellers while being involved in schemes, and issues that slowly stacked up.

Comparable, most of the community enjoyed content and events other mods and i designed both forum and ingame, while several events that the very devs devised, were abandoned in a matter of days, which is a shame, becouse if they listened to the community none of that would had happened, their content was usable, but they made it unbearably grindy and not worth the effort that players invested time elsewhere, and this happened several times in a row, discouraging players from the very idea and moto ArcheRage team was based upon.

I understand $ is an issue in F2P games, but trading short term profits opposed to building up community and focusing on limited boosts with costumes/consumables and most importantly wasting developer teams time whilst making the game worse than it was, is not something reasonable and i stood up with the community on several points where the game would obviously be more fun, and competetive, granting long term time investment for players worthwhile by reaching the endgame and doing much of its content, where in reality that was gated from most players that did not invest years or large amounts of money into the game.
No one can tell me mmorpg models need to be that grindy to keep players busy as there are known successful examples like Tera Online, Guild Wars 2 and few others which are the opposites.
Games are meant to be fun, and Korean players are not the same as US/EU players, when the people making the decisions realise this, they will have the knowledge on what to expect from certain markets.

This rant took so long :) anyway i was banned after i quit the ArcheRage team( yes you heard it right) they fired me after i quit becouse they were angry i stood up with players and what was right, instead of blindly following orders.
I even knew the exact day they would ban me so i arranged all my affairs ingame and on the forum prior to that.
At the time of my ban i was one of the 1% most rich players in the game, and i only cared for the server health, what players wanted and what the original idea, ambition and potential this game had.
It got personal for them i guess, becouse they broke their ToS by banning me under false reasons and they broke few other of their own rules, but i guess we are all human.

I still reccomend you trying out the private server since there is much more to it than being competetive in a game.
And ArcheRage still > Archeage by miles so if you have not yet you should definitelly try the game while it exists, as it is very rare to see sandbox open world games executed so well in its original state. Best Crafting/Exploring i have seen in any game.

Me, i am currently between GW2, Path of Exile, few games of Moba in between and waiting on the
https://crimsondesert.online/#home and few other games.

Cheers

Sincerily
