Remove/replace the WTF button - It only incentives harrassment and trolls

There is a reason so many sites removed negative user buttons (no facebook dislike, blizzard removed the dislike button and twitter is only positive feedback). At best, do it like reddit and just have a thumbs down if don't like a post. That is the least troll-like method to a negative post. But we already have a "LOL". Which LOL can be positive too since making people laugh is good.

To me, "WTF" is such a dumb button cause it just incentives harrassment. You can see in my "WTFs" there is one guy (won't say full username but starts with MMO) who spammed all my posts with WTFs lol. I just laughed at it, but the wtf button really degrades the site.

Hopefully my abuse of WTF toward a certain user gets MMORPG.com to remove such a derogatory troll-like button (to be honest, but I did abuse it still so hey not lying I did it too). Or at least replace it with something that doesn't incentive users to harrass certain members just cause they don't like them. There are certain users (me included) that also get heavily harrassed by the "WTF" as seen by my wtf spam I get by "MMO". No matter what I posted he responded with "WTF". Other posts get randomly WTF for no reason but to be a troll.

It really does only entice trolls and harrassment. And on a major PROFESSIONAL gaming site, that is supposed to be a serious gaming hub...it fits as well as if MMORPG.com replaced the forums with facebook lol

No, typically it's used as a way to express shock and dismay.  But sure.. let's all give each other positivity hugs.  In what way does the button emotionally harm anyone?  Probably similar reason for them removing Taunts in Smash Bros.... so now everyone's just doing the triple down t-bag instead.

I don't really care. What I look for most often is @Gdemami's "LOL" icon. It let's me know I'm not a lost cause... yet ;)

I do agree that the "WTF" icon is pretty much an "Are you NUTZ!?!" emote, used to indicate a lack of metal fortitude, so I try to use the "insightful" icon instead, seeing a different way of looking at something.

Most of the "WTF's" I get are from people I don't care to agree with, so I'm cool. I never really suffered from "peer pressure" as I grew up :)

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse.

So, you've posted enough crazy stuff that you built up a cult fan-club?  It just sounds to me like that "unnamed" poster is your no. 1 fan. :D
The fact that someone puts in that much effort to follow you around means that they are trolling themselves more than you.

You've posted many threads, which means you must want people to pay attention to what you have to say.  Now that you've become recognized, you are complaining because the attention is negative.

Anyhow, what's the difference in a WTF or a thumbs-down?  The meaning is the same.  Either way, you are telling someone "Your post sucked."
As long as there's any type of voting/liking systems, etc., at all, there'll be people who abuse it.

TL:DR - This is "safe-space" garbage.  If you beg for attention, some of it will turn out to be negative.
