Imagine sitting in your $1,400 gaming armchair using your $500 gaming mouse on your $100 gaming mousepad with your $1,700 gaming keyboard and getting PWNSAUCED by some 10 year old sitting at a $20 card table in a $9 folding chair from Walmart. You would need a gaming desk nameplate that says "Gaming Asshole."

From a health stand point, you shouldn't be staying seated for 12 hours a day. But as to the chair, if you can afford it, fine. You have more disposable income than me.

If I played 12 hours a day, 5 days a week, then yes, i'd be interested in buying this chair. If you have a desk job and the comfort of the seat helps your back and everything else out then it may be worth it.

A chair is a chair, but in reality certain chairs have much more utility than others and it depends on the person.

I'm naturally cheap, so i balk at the price tag, but if it was important and made a substantial difference in your life than it can be worth it.

It would be interesting to see their margin on this chair. I wonder if a person could order the parts separately and assemble it themselves and see how much it costs.

I do know that good chairs, REALLY good chairs can cost more than that.

Why buy a chair for that money? Good chairs actually last longer than cheaper chairs. In addition, high end chairs have much better warranties.

Now, should one buy a "gaming chair?" Well, only the customer can answer that. For me, I'd rather put my money in a good chair regardless of gaming.

I'll pay the money if it means I will save my back and be able to get the chair fixed throughout its lifetime.

If you are required to sit in a chair for 12+ hours a day, 5+ days a week, 1400 may not be that high of a price for a decent chair such as for a job in an office doing important work for your company. If you are sitting in a chair for 12+ hours a day, 5+ days a week at home for a hobby, a 1400 dollar chair is pointless because you can very easily just get up and walk away from your computer when your chair is reaching that uncomfortable point.

"gaming"throw that tag on a product and automatically the price is quadrupled.
One angle never talked about is TIME.The only time you need a real good chair along with proper posture is if spending TOO much time in one.

Get up often,stretch the legs,get the blood moving again,proven fact that sitting causes improper blood flow that has long term effects.

As to this chair or ANY chair?NOBODY i have witnessed sits in them properly,so NONE of them could do their job properly even if the chairs were really good.So as long as gamer's misuse chairs,might as well be sitting in a $5 chair.
They are only there to be cool anyhow,NONE of the streamers are buying them or GIVEN them for practical reasons.

Funny how streamers not only have impacted gaming but also gaming peripherals.

Really easy to answer the question what do you get for $1400. A waste of money. Like @Torval above me I broke down an bought a new chair last year. I went to Office Depot sat in the chairs, ended up buying a Serta also. It is extremely padded and great for a person that is tall.

This trend of overpriced PC gaming parts (streaming hardware, desktops, chairs, RGB stuff, etc) is really pushing me to believing that these companies are looking at PC gamers as stupid with open bank account ready to be emptied, and nothing else.

Just because i have to pay a premium to build a decent 60fps on high settings gaming PC doesn't mean i blindly waste money on shit.

Considering it likely isn't that much more comfortable than stuff in the 300 dollar range I can pick up at staple's it very much is probably overpriced.
