I've been playing ESO with Vorpx and the Oculus Rift lately and I am curious if anyone else is doing the same. It's a nice stand-in until we get properly built-for-VR MMOs (assuming we indeed get them).
Of course it is very immersive. It made the game much more interesting and fun for me. I have to be careful that I hold the middle mouse button down when doing anything with inventory or if there is a static screen while loading another area though. Nausea comes quick if I am moving my head and what I am looking at does not move. As long as I do that then I don't get sick, even running around at full-speed, and I can really enjoy the feeling of being *in* the environment when I take it slow.
I wish ESO was a little more challenging, but that's for another discussion. I will just say that if I feared death more then I think the game would be doubly immersive.
Anyways, I am just curious if anyone else is having fun with this. I get the feeling that a lot of gamers aren't really into VR or are waiting for it to get a bit better.
It's certainly fantastic for games like War Thunder (or racing sims like Assetto Corsa). And with a little tweaking, ESO and other games really get another level added to the experience by being in VR.
Sounds interesting! Is VorpX only for the Oculus Rift? Is it software or hardware?
Now that the VR stuff is getting cheaper, I've been thinking about giving it a go.
Vorpx should work with the HTC Vive. That's my understanding. I think people have gotten it to work with other head-mounted displays as well (like the hi-def PIMAX ones). You can always double check on the Vorpx forums.
I play Vendetta Online natively in Gear VR sometimes.
It also runs in Go and Rift (and even Daydream).
Modestly, I feel like VR is the platform it was meant for.

The world is going to the dogs, which is just how I planned it!
