Archer/Utility Mage build.

My Archery build and how it works.

First and foremost I'm an archer.  In order to be a complete un-gimped archer I have to concentrate my allocated points into four categories, and build each to the max of 100 (eventually). I'm as follows:

 Archery:

-Vigor 63

-Healing 48 (with bandaids)

-Archery 64

-Light armor 61

Mage:

-Manifestation 44 (healing, utility)

-Channeling 31

This will eventually equal 400 in Archery and 200 in Mage of the 600 points max.  The game only allows 600 total.  You always have to keep in mind the end result.  If I spread too thin being a hybrid doing everything, 25 points here 30 points their, I'll use up my points and not have important ones to 100.

In other words. Looking ahead 100x6=600 points… This will be my build at Grand Mastery.

Theirs's something else to keep in mind. By casting greater heal (manifestation), this will automatically build channeling.  So in order to be strong in Manifestation I NEED to allow an open door to let channeling to build to 100.

You may ask, how do you pick your skill or class ?....You don't.  At any given point the player can change direction…. Decide to change from archery to slashing or Lancing or even mage?... Simply grab a sword and start building points. Or grab a spell book and start casting. BE WARNED the slashing will take away from potential points for Archery. If you decide slashing is for you, open the tab and "zero out" Archery to free up potential points.

This holds true for professions such as mining or lumberjack, because you would likely take metal working, carpentry or many others.  To do all four would require 400 of the 600 points.  Most would create an alternate to supply reagents for their main.

This is the best character build style of any game to date. I could change direction at any given time and start building.

I like to sub class in Manifestation.
This allows my Archer to heal, refresh my stamina, Teleport for kiting around the area, marka location to teleport to far locations, resurrect players and even hide by cloaking.

All this comes with the spell book and finding scrolls around the world.

There's almost no reason for your build to take Manifestation to 100.  Unless you're going to actively use Mark/Portal all the time, stopping at 70.1 to get 100% GHeal is fine (cloak is otherwise useless btw).  If you're taking Healing/Vigor to 80 then you don't really need Resurrection either since you can do it with bandaids instead.

Channeling has nothing to do with casting, just mana regen.  It will always passively tick, but you'll tick more often when using Focus.

Also, while I see a lot of people running around in light armor, armor is essentially useless unless you're melee.  Cloth gives about 80% the armor that light armor does with no skill cost.  Also, you'll get less "mana downtime" with cloth than light armor as light/heavy armor give mana regen penalties.

    Great, advice
    I'll deeply study your advice.

Now channeling builds automatically when casting... should this be re-zeroed out often ?.... I was thinking about mana regen since I'm an Archer first and casting is secondary, I don't have to care about a large pool of mana.  Channeling to 100 could be good if wanting to ALSO be full healer.

I see your point with mark/portal... the player would have to ask themselves, is this spell worth the 30 extra points. For now yes, but I'll have to think about it, I have time on my hands before getting to 70.

Cloaking- hide to avoid PvP Zerg groups, if needed ?

    Resurrection with band aids ?

I do say you give me a lot to think about, thanks !

After deeper thought, I decided to build as is.
People are building melee/mages (paladin) as a viable build.  This is the same but with Archery.

Infact a guild mate told me arrows hit the same as melee, so it's just the same if the monster closes the distance (same results).  Yet you have the advantage of ranged.  He also told me it's proven heavy armor is not feasible for any build, so regular fighters will have the same armor. It so happens a conversation with the guild, the melee players were talking about switching to Lancing for keeping distance (archery is better yet).

Manifestation and channeling, I also decided to go all the way.  This makes me a full service healer/resurrection/utility.... I like that.  Manifestation also has teleport that will disengage the target to help with kiting.  And Refresh that will turn mana into stamina so I can execute my archery finishers way more often.

Now you do have me carious about cloth armor instead of light, I'll check on that. And not sure what you mean by resurrecting players with bandaids ?
