Is it too late to come back?

I bought ESO when it was first released, and obviously it went through a bit of a rough time... I stopped playing after a few months and began to focus on other MMOs instead. I've read over the past few years that a lot has improved, and having watched videos and articles it seems it really has, which I'm glad about. Unfortunately the only thing I've done so far is completed the main storyline, and I've not even started the 2 other base game faction areas. Being a completionist who prefers to go through content in the order it was released, and knowing that I'm gonna have to first complete the other 2 factions' zones before even moving on to the first expansion, I'm not sure if the game's even gonna be around by the time I get to it. There's 2 expansions out already, with another on the way, and I just don't want to get back into the game if it's not gonna be around in a year or two.

*TLDR: Is it too late to come back?*

    Housing system is very impressive. Cansual player community in this game are quite creative

    No.
    Firstly - as @Arterius says - the game appears to be financially successful; join over 10M other players etc. We don't "know" but ahe pointers are that its doing OK ...

    which wasn't the case when it launched but ES is a big IP for Zenimax, much more than just ESO, so they stuck with it which bodes well.

    Secondly there are people "everywhere".
    - Partly due to the megaservers;
    - partly the result of One Tamriel - since zones don't need to be done in order
    - partly because there is no max level end zone.

    As far as doing content in order doing the original 3 alliance stories in order has benefits - they don't have to be done in order but it has benefits. The new content areas have there own stories which also benefit from being done in there own order but the order in which you do the DLC doesn't really matter.
