So it looks like the last time this was discussed was a while ago
https://forums.mmorpg.com/discussion/460961/new-trailer-takes-viewers-to-the-edge-of-eternity-mmorpg-com-newsI recently picked it up at Steam and so far have been pleasantly surprised.
The Dev team is small (up to 9 people now!), and it's shoestring. They make no bones about it - it's in a splash screen right as the game loads.
That being said, it's surprisingly well done. It isn't going to compete against EA, S/E, or Acti/Bliz, but it comes a lot closer than you'd think. A bit more polish on the animations and a little more optimization and I would think it did come from S/E.
The game art is in Japanese style, and reminds me very much of The Last Remnant. The game play is closer to Final Fantasy - loosely turn based with ATB.
I'm about 10 hours in. The game isn't well optimized, it struggles to run on even pretty high end rigs, but it still looks ok. The story so far has kept moving along at a good clip.
I'm mainly posting because of two things:
The first, I like supporting small teams, and this team has done an incredible job so far.
The second, the team is responsive. They post content, patches, and bug fixes very regularly.
So the game may not be perfect, but the team has heart and is moving the quality forward. I respect that and support it. Just thought I would give it a shout out here for folks that may be interested.
