I went to the drive in with family to see the very first Star Wars film and always loved the movies.
The games however are typical of cheap lame ideas just cashing in on the popular IP,no different than toys and other peripherals.
They might have spent 200 mill on the game,it doesn't look it,i would have put another year into it and even then it just wreaks of half assed development.
Man i was so stoked for this game when it came out,i thought it was going to be something grand and had me spellbound for about a week, then it sunk in. I would rather see a different developer take over,i have not seen much good of Bioware at all for a very long time.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
SWG died in the era where mmorpgs were new and exciting. In this day and age it would have been completely ignored. SW:TOR for all it's faults managed to survive and still be relevant today.
This is basically the same "WoW is a horrible mmorpg" argument with different protagonists but similar outcomes.
Not true, it has not survived. SWTOR was dead on it's release, the game engine was already outdated back then. Now, the only serious updates are those in the Cartel Shop. Current EA's priority is to monetize what's left as much as possible before shutting the game off before the SW license expires.
True enough, SWTOR was dead on arrival and SWG died due to the NGE which didn't help its already dwindling population. But, to be honest the only reason both of those games had enjoyed any of "success" or longevity is that there are not many Star War games out at the moment so we have to take what we get unfortunately .
