Blizzard Boss: Our Teams Are Highly Motivated, We Feel We’ve Got a Lot to Prove Even to Ourselves

This is an important topic for everyone and it’s super important to me personally. I said consistently that the Blizzard pipeline is larger and richer than ever before. It includes PC and console releases.

It includes ongoing content for World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Hearthstone and a couple of mobile initiatives. It’s critical that all of these products meet the Blizzard quality that we’re known for. We want to give the teams the space to really create excellence and release games at a better and more consistent kids.

We’re pretty impatient to get all those content in front of the community and it’s a reason that we have significantly increased our developer headcount as we talked about last quarter. The teams are highly motivated. We feel we’ve got a lot to prove, both to our players and to ourselves. And lastly, earlier Coddy [Collister Johnson – President and Chief Operating Officer of Activision Blizzard] talked about announcing BlizzCon and the show is returning November 1st and 2nd to the Anaheim convention center and working really hard to make it a great event.

you know the "blizzard quality we know" is lacking like hell in the last decade

and lets get real here wow is still big because it was teh first MMO of most people out there, and nostalgy hit and you kinda fell like playing for some time, then it hit you the boring again

I know I did that with l2, darkeden, and I would do it with T4C if I did get to search for a server to play it

but it will not last, like always

also trusting in PR "talk" is like trusting a politician word, you are dumb in doing so, you know he is lying
FOR HONOR, FOR FREEDOM.... and for some money.

Their teams are falling apart from bad management.

Motivation has never been so low. The good ones have already left, or are on their way out.

    This is PR garbage.

I picture a conference room at Blizzard and a weekly meeting on WoW design. One employee, we'll call him Jim, is in charge of treadmill progression and endless grinds. A second employee, Mary, is in charge of unnecessary nerfs. She works closely with Jim. A third employee, Bob, was hired to make sure the game is fun. Bob hasn't been to work in years.

EQ1, EQ2, SWG, SWTOR, GW, GW2 CoH, CoV, FFXI, WoW, CO, War,TSW and a slew of free trials and beta tests
