¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I'm going to grab some popcorn and wait for the drama to unfold. I can see lots of those rose colored glasses coming off once people start getting back into classic....
I'm not an IT Specialist, Game Developer, or Clairvoyant in real life, but like others on here, I play one on the internet.
The new races and actually interesting starter zones from TBC improved the experience enough for me to give it more of a try. I have no interest in going back to an even older World of Walking experience. I'd rather see them fix the current game.
Yeah, totally. They should add auto travel like mobile games, maybe even level your character for you when you're offline. Get rid of specializations all together. Maybe take out all the pesky mobs that get in your way when you're trying to quest.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
and they have that goddamn timer to taunt me too
Grumble.
And streamers get first dibs because it is free advertising and a win-win for both streamer and company.
You can see my sci-fi/WW2 book recommendations.
Streamers are distorting the gaming landscape, they are the player equivalent of the cash shop. Marketing before gaming ethos, presentation before gameplay.
incorrect.. WotLK was literally better than all the rest of WoW Combined... Classic was literally a horrible experience for anyone who actually played it on so many levels :P debatable, i don't watch streamers.. but i watched one earlier for about 45min playing Classic, literally felt like taking a nap "fun and engaging gameplay?" more like autoattack simulator 2019.
Hey it's classic, so it's only logical to work as it used. If you remember few years ago each WoW beta would be only streamers/youtubers and Blizzard employees and MAYBE a couple of random people.
I don't mind that.
People talk about rose tinted glasses, but there are plenty of us who know what we are going to get and are quite happy. I personally don't want to get back to having my evening taken with raids, so I don't plan on raiding, but PvP... that's why I want classic mostly.
Some people will get in, but the streamer thing in this case shouldn't be a thing (my opinion). Classic didn't happen because of these random streamers. It was a community campaign and I wasn't part of that campaign. So in my opinion I shouldn't be in the beta for classic. Obviously I believe the streamers should not be in it either... Were any of the invited streamers part of that campaign?
Getting back to the entire classic community campaign thing... In my opinion those are the people that should have been first wave.
My best WoW memories were back in the Classic days before the TBC expac (which I absolutely hated).
PVP in Alterac Valley was crazy and fun, remembering sitting in one Alterac Valley session from 10PM in the evening til 7AM in the morning and it still wasn't finished lol.
World PVP actually existed and was crazy zerg fun! Alliance raiding Undercity. Horde raiding Stormwind. Or who could forget all those nights at Tarren Mill lol.
But there were also a lot of bad sides from classic WoW, like running UBRS instance over 60 times over and over and over for that stupid Chest piece that never dropped and never did! The dungeons were brutally long and time consuming! Nothing compared to the quick easy in/out dungeon rolling it is today. Loot tables were very unforgiving!
But those are good memories long gone and won't come back with WoW Classic servers.
It was a different time, different place and different people. Pretty much all people I knew from that time moved on long ago and no longer play WoW.
I think a lot of people will be in for a shocker, if WoW Classic is really going to be like Classic. They have forgotten what an insane timesinks MMO's were back in the day.
I sure as hell don't have that kind of time anymore.
Neither of those two really should touch the beta if their goal is to put on the rose colored glasses again.
But alas, the player base is what it is and the locusts will be locusts...
No beta of WoW has ever resulted in a better game... ever. It just perfected the locust mentality to what it is today.
That community that you seek isn't waiting for you in beta... far from it.
