I don't know this guy, so I don't know what you want.
But if you talking about originality, we will remember original 7/10 for Fallout 76 at launch.
This portal don't know any shame.
If you are still buying games based off a journalist review thats on you pal. No offense to Suzie or Bill or the rest of the team at MMORPG (who actually do a MUCH better job then most outlets) But journalism across the board doesn't have the same integrity it once did. When i see a game review posted here or any website for that matter I immediately look to the comment section for the real low down on whats what. It's what makes Steam so invaluable , The review system has never lead me astray and opened my eyes to games like Truck Simulator which I thought were a absurd premise until reading the reviews and giving it a shot.
The story of modern gaming comments, "soundbite insights".
Back in my day, they just had game manuals. They explained complex concepts such as names of the buttons on a NES controller. The picture of the controller with a button labeled 'A' wasn't enough, so they had to draw a line to the button and provide the name, 'A button'. Believe It or Not! (see page 3)
Back then storage on eprom was a premium. Printing on paper was cheaper and easier. No one asked for paper and many people wanted in game help. It wasn't some horror foisted on us. It improved the game experience.
Some games have crappy tutorials like some games had crappy books and maps not to mention those horrifically convoluted encryption schemes. Turn to page 352 of the game manual, read the 4th word of the 6th paragraph backwards, while spinning around and being thankful for the not-dumbed-down experience.
Correct. In addition to the premium on in game resources, 'online' didn't take off for a ways after as well. Paper was the way to communicate these things. Some games had extremely detailed and 'basic' instructions like my example, and some games were extremely lacking in their instructions. Some games were hard by design, and some games were easy. Some games were hard from lack of instructions, and some games were easy with instructions that assumed people knew nothing at all, including what an 'A button' was. Easier mode, hard mode, those existed back then, and earlier, as well
No changes in repair system?...
No serious balance improvements(gear/perks rework etc.)?...and for a long time...
Sorry,pass(for now at least).
For the early players this update is targeting, repairing is jot that difficult. It isn't until ballistic weave and ultracite are required that it gets difficult. I'm respeccing my main to a hand to hand melee build from the more recent changes to hand to hand weapons.
Sean Murray of Hello Games (No Man's Sky) says developers of troubled games like Anthem and Fallout 76 shouldn't try and play PR games with their respective communities. It's an interesting article and perspective on these situations.
I think he's right, more developers need to stop engaging their players until they have stuff "in stone."
